I would do it just like the Chinese have been doing it for 30 years.

Even in WW2 attacking the United States was next to impossible. Maybe the best chance would be to turn Mexico fascist and invade through the southwest. Even than you still have a major problem of supply, Mexico on their own couldn’t supply a massive invasion force from Germany. Germany would have a difficult time transporting supply without naval superiority.

Second problem is Germany’s navy is no where close to the Navy of the United States. Japan could match us early but our superior industry would beat out Japan even if they won the battle of midway. Even in the extremely unlikely scenario that they could invade and take Hawaii It’s still unlikely they could do anything from there. Think about it unless they caught us unprepared in Hawaii they likely would have to invade the Hawaiian islands and take out a force of 100K plus. Than supply a likely devastated Hawaiian islands after they bombed it and defeat likely multiple counter invasions by the United States. Even if they could hold and supply Hawaii it’s still not close enough to bomb the mainland USA or invade.

Could Japan use Alaska to invade the United States? IT may be the best option but unlikely. Again the same problem with Mexico. How can you supply a massive invasion force from Alaska? The United States would have no problem defending their coast land as supply wouldn’t be a problem. While the mountainous terrain in the inner passage and lack of infrastructure would be a major problem for any invading force.

How do you invade the East coast? Maybe island hop through Greenland and Iceland? But again how do you supply a massive invasion force?

As interesting as alternate scenario situations are like The Man in the High Castle. I find it next to impossible if not impossible to invade and overthrow the United States.

Maybe the only outside chance would be to start a civil war and join one side, but a Civil war In the United States during WWII I doubt it.

This may be more than you wanted but I love WWII history!

I understand the logic of invading New Orleans and control the mouth of the Mississippi. But not when you research it and the history of those attempting to do so. Then again, we are talking about a country dumb enough to invade Russia.

You invade El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Belize & Nicaragua. You focus all efforts there, and once you have control of that region, you begin a massive military buildup. Then you roll up through Mexico and into the SW United States. Warm climate for operations, etc. The pass through the northern border would subject your troops to freezing to death. They would have learned that lesson in Russia.

The most fascinating plan was post invasion governing of America. Hitler had middle grade officers assigned to research their designated region.
IE, 'Capt. Schmidt, after we conquer the US you will be governor of a place called Virginia. You shall spend the next year studying English and learning everything about the region. You will learn about their agriculture, business, transportation, culture...everything.'

I don't believe the Baws in SE LA would take kindly to some Nazi bastards rolling up the river.

Open up trade with the US and slowly build wealth and military power over decades, using cheap labor and free trade ideals against US best interests until their economy is largely dependent on my manufacturing of their essential goods and raw materials. Use money to buy off politicians, and stakes in US based corporate media to push my propaganda.

Take over raw material mining in Africa and develop infrastructure there, and use this to force those nations to vote for representation in the UN and WHO that furthers my country’s best interests.

Create a deadly virus in a lab and spread it across the US, have aforementioned entities that I now control cover it up. Cause a panic and economic shutdown across the US. Swoop in and buy up large chunks of US businesses on the cheap. I now own enough of the US and it’s economy to control it.
