LINK

This is from Dan Weber of the USC 24/7 page and there is a lot to unpack here - some true, some ridiculous.

The True

quote:

...the pair will need USC's help here. Heisman winner Burrow and Ed Orgeron certainly made it happen there with the kind of special flair so these two could make it happen in their world.

The Bad

quote:

...apparently USC can compete with LSU in ways that certainly mattered to Brown and Stout, who talked of USC's history and LA's diversity not to mention the media landscape and USC's Film School and all the guys with names on buildings around here like George Lucas and Steven Spielberg.

Does USC's Film School not already have these people on campus or as alumni? Not exactly a ringing endorsement for that program.

The Ugly

quote:

Oh, and the Song Girls. Forgot them. How does LSU compete with that? Not easily.

Buddy...come on.

Exhibit A

Exhibit B

Exhibit C

quote:

USC can compete at the highest level -- if only it will. The arrival of Brown and Stout proves that.

Huh?

Lmao

They really stuck it to us here. Damn those USC people stealing our hype video undergrad students!!

Woodward and Orgeron better get this shite under control

They do realize hype videos are only relevant when you’re phucking awesome, right?

Personally, I think it speaks more to LSUs ability to develop talent and uscs inability to do so more than anything. Despite all that glorious history and Los Angeles and so on, they had to come to LSU to find the best.

Geaux Tigers

Is this really something to care about? I imagine LSU will continue to grow their media.

No it’s not. It’s an endorsement of LSU and an indictment of USC and their inability to develop film students more than anything if we are being honest.

Of course LA is the center of the universe for people with such dreams. Good for them! These two kids deserve the chance to make a name for themselves in their careers.

Doesn’t it say an awful lot though that despite USC being USC and all those legendary names on buildings they had to come to LSU to find talent?

Yea it does.

Not sure who's loss will hurt more, Joe Brady or Will Stout.

Ya, those shots pre-game in the locker room showing Slovis gelling his hair and running on the field to a 70% capacity Coliseum narrated by Will Ferrel will be really sick

They will backfill this kid, the team and the LSU football experience is more important than the editor for these films.

Hope the kid has fun though the article isn't lying about LA women. They're all very friendly lol

I'll take our current status as an elite football program. USC can have the video guys and their own sense of self importance.

ITs not a bad article really

The first half is all about how LSU Videos looked good because LSU looked good.

The second half is jsut reaching for a glimmer of hope, which we can't fault them for.

Are people really upset that a video and media guy said it’s his dream to work in Los Angeles with/for USC? I mean cmon Steven Soderbergh pride aside that’s like ULL fans getting mad a football player from lafayette says LSU is their dream school.

That being said, the highlight videos will lose a lot of their heft when it’s 6-3 USC taking on 4-5 Oregon State as opposed to LSU v Alabama. But that’s not really why they made the move

Those guys are obviously talented, but LSU has never had problems churning out popular hype videos. We are a huge brand with a one of a kind coach and a larger than life personality and heisman winning quarterback. A lot of the views come organically, not just video angles

If LSU keeps rolling with Ed Orgeron, we aren’t going to have a problem getting views and viral praise

Who wrote the speeches in every video? The montages are great, but there’s probably endless amounts of people on LSU’s campus that can do the editing and all that for the videos. Hell give me access to Premiere Pro or whatever software was used and in short order I could do the editing, it’s not hard.

But it’s the speeches that really made those videos. The speeches and the big names reciting them.

Cannot fault anyone choosing a better opportunity for them. Hollywood is at your doorstep. I wish him the best.

OR just the fact that Stout is following his dream of being in LA at some point in his life. It isn't about USC competing and outbidding LSU. this kid is still a student. He's following his dream, can't be mad at him for that.

he's gonna make a 6-6 football team look hype AF.

thought those were the weakest parts. Worsham can be so mundane
