Why can't God & a Big Bang BOTH be true?
It always feels like people want to argue it as 1 OR the other.
Why can't we fathom/reason/accept that "God" was conscious of/to himself, was lonely, & created?
Personally, I believe in the Cliff Notes version of The King James Bible (due to untold number of edits/revisions/translations) & follow what I feel is a positive moral set of values + I believe in as much science as I can follow. My pea brain can only take say much.

I went to church several years with Donald Lydenbell-Bell before he died. He was responsible for discovering black holes. We discussed these issues at great length during the fellowship hour. He was a really nice gentleman and kind to my son in answering such questions.

It didn't. The Big Bang theory is stupid and I'm embarrassed that my species came up with it.

My theory is that "something" caused the gravitational constant to reverse for an instant.

If interested in this type of stuff I'd recommend "The language of God" as a good read.

Einstein and Hawking weren't smart enough to figure it out so I'll monitor this thread to learn the correct answer.

When the last universe died and collapsed in on itself. Then all the energy from that caused the big bang. The cycle goes on. Time isn't linear, it's just such a giant circle and we occupy such a small part of it that we can't see the curve

Our observations are never going to give a satisfactory answer to this question. It is borderline unanswerable.

Who the hell really cares?

There wasn’t really a bang.
It was more like an extremely rapid expansion.
The hardest point to grasp is that the expansion didn’t grow to fill space, it created space as it expanded. Everything was created as it expanded.

A Big Bang occurs every time someone starts a new simulation.

It didn't happen.

Formation of a black hole or strings touching

Chuck Lorre pitched it to CBS

It is a white hole or the other end of a black hole
That theory would also support a multiverse theory

The problem with all sides of the universal origins argument comes from the fact that we have a finite understanding of how things work. We humans box our understanding within the constraints of things we live under like time, starting points, things like that. If there is a "higher way" that us humans can't comprehend then that's where things like faith come in for believers and such. Even for those who aren't religious, there's still an illogical leap that has to be made at some point. But alas as humans we are always going to be chasing our tails collectively about how things took place.
