I'm getting tired of hearing this shite. Going to work at a hospital in the U.S. beats any day in the trenches on the front line in an actual war.

Tell that to ER doctors in North Charleston or New Orleans. At any rate, it's a fricking analogy.

OP was just quoting the article....

No seriously what made her tops in her field....?

The media likes to throw words like top, and prominent around when talking about positions like that without showing any context....

Can't believe it took until Page 4 for the conspiracy theorists to crawl out of their mother's basement.

Even if true, being in a facility with all the supplies, equipment and support you need to treat patients =/= ditch medicine in a trench on the front lines.

They aren't saying she is the #1 ER doctor on Earth, just that she was among the best of her peers. She was the medical director of an ER unit in Manhattan. She obviously was at least pretty damn good at her job. Why are people so hung up on this?

I’m sure it isn’t an easy job but as others have said, they are not seeing trauma where body parts have been blown off or hacked away.

Seems to me if you kill yourself over this, you weren’t cut out for healthcare work.

Maybe she's a shitty doctor, that's why she's the director...

Some medical directors don't even practice...

That's a pretty shitty opinion given you can develop emotional trauma from a host of things outside of "body parts blown off". And there's a host of evidence-based medical studies that support that.

You can absolutely develop PTSD from working in an ER. A lot of people working in ICU units right now are likely going to need additional mental healthcare when it's all said and done.
