The mentally ill shouldn't be treating patients

You’re right LSUJML , they see it just prior to the ED guys . Still a lot of nasty stuff .

Who says she was top? I mean what makes a Er doc the TOP? AP ESPN? Web MD?? Horrible loss but dentists have been doing this forever!! Terrible Terrible loss but the title of the story the writer not journalist should be throat punched.

It was a woman. Maybe read the story.

Might have been avoided if she could have had physical contact with family or friends.
She was staying with family at their home in VA.
Again, try reading the story.

Kinda shocked at some of the replies, but I guess I shouldn't be.
Even an ER doc isn't prepared for the volume of sickness and death she saw, especially in such a compressed tine period.
Overwork, fatigue, and the inability to provide good resolutions for her patients probably overwhelmed her.
Prayers for her and her family.
This. Well said

Anna Pou scenario.
Dr. Pou is an amazing person and physician. I was fortunate to have her as my treating physician. She is highly respected by her peers .What Happened to her is criminal. It is a testament to her strength for her to have made it through that fiasco.

Are they suggesting that an ER doc committed suicide because of the trauma from seeing elderly patients dying from a upper respiratory virus?
Media whores.
They will bend every piece of truth until it's unrecognizable.

I’m sorry for her family’s loss, I really am. Question: are there gunshot victims or heart attack victims who die before they get taken out of the ambulances??
I can about imagine stories that could be told of what goes on in an ER.

His? Did you even read the story?

Yes “his” as in her father losing his child. But I’ve clarified. Geeze.

Covid has brought out the low low class of OT posters and thats saying something because the normal OT has some low class individuals to begin with.

This story doesn’t make sense.

100%. I truly hate this site sometimes; it’s obvious the current situation magnifies the unhappiness of these losers on here.

Some of y’all are pretty fricked up.

We keep putting this group of people on high pedestals. Calling them heros every day. Giving them free food. Having flyovers. Heros. Heros.
I am not knocking them or what they do. They absolutely deserve all the praise they get. Problem is some of these doctors and nurses are seeing nothing but death day in and day out. Yet they are called heros and praised for their work. Yet they see their work and efforts only result in death. That can probably mess with their mindset more than we think.
We probably should be focusing on counseling and mental support especially for ER workers and those exposed to the most loss of life.

We needs to pass a law that makes it illegal to kill yourself without leaving behind a letter on why you did it. Virginia should start it.
