The Central pastor who defied the coronavirus stay-at-home order was placed on house arrest Saturday morning after refusing to tell a state district judge whether he would continue to hold religious services. Judge Fred Crifasi of the 19th Judicial District Court put Rev. Tony Spell, the controversial pastor of Life Tabernacle Church, on house arrest at 9 a.m.

We are becoming the Soviet Union. I never thought I’d see the day when Christianity was outlawed in the United States if America, but here we are. Sad day .

How far do y'all think he takes this case? What's the appeals path here once any trial is done? State district judge, so it goes to the LASC then to the USSC, right?

Does he just quit when he reaches a point where it's no longer bringing in cash?

ETA: Forgot the LA Court of Appeals before the LASC, didn't I?

Also, can he get a federal injunction against the state courts?

I wonder what the radius on that thing is. His church is basically 100 yards away from his house.

To him it's a badge of honor. He'll play the martyr angle for years. JBE did him a big favor. I'm not defending or criticizing Spell, but you do realize we have allowed 50 dictators to root themselves in the U.S., right? Do you honestly think JBE will wait on the legislature the next time he wants something done his way?

I think he was only arrested based on the assault charge involving the bus.

This man be the biggest jerk on earth however, his constitutional rights are being trampled upon.

Meanwhile in Minneapolis Minnesota they (Muslims) are now doing public call to pray five times a day.

Dude is still gonna come out ahead in the $$ game. With getting the stimulus checks from his flock, more people wanting to stick it to the man attending his services when he starts up, etc. Ole baw on easy street.

You know what he could do?

He could... wait for it.....

Hold service from his home and everyone could use their smart phones, iPads, and computers to tune in via the internet, He could also use apps like Zoom, Skype, Goto meeting, House party, etc to hold actual bible study and Sunday school.

That would show them.

I’d just like to know what gives elected officials the power to revoke the rights of the people the Constitution say cannot be infringed.
