You probably own a POS, but small engines are a pain if you don't take great care of them properly.

Got an electric 40v blackndecker and haven’t had any problems with it. Have Only had for a year though.

I'm screwed once the first set of string is gone. Need recommendations on an idiot proof model.

Yeah I usually have to put new chord on my weedeater atleast twice when doing my yard. I used to get pissed off, but Ive just learned to accept it now..

Get a Stihl. Mines a kombi system so it has multiple attachments. Primarily use weed eater and pole saw. I only use the high quality premixed ethanol free fuel sold in a can. Starts on the first crank every time for 3 years so far. Down side is all of that cost about 800 dollars.

No, my weedeater is reliable. Except during the winter months when he visits his family in Mexico.

Battery powered weedeater is the way to go. Too much maintenance to worry about with gas mixture...especially now that they add ethanol to gas.

Go electric.
Battery, not cord.
Thank me later.

If I go back to doing my own lawn I'll keep this in mind

RoundUp replaced my weedeater many years ago.

What is that? Fuel stabilizer and the proper gas/oil mix?

I used to buy the Lowes $99 specials and they'd last me a year. Spend $200-300 and get a Husqvarna, Ecco or Stihl, run TruFuel or ethanol free gas in it and they'll last you 10+ years.
