Baton Rouge-isms

I seem to remember some common phrases from my decades in BR that don't appear to be anywhere else in the world. Please confirm and/or add some of your own:
Cobb - refers to what I guess most other people would call a "loogie"
Servitude - refers to what some people call that part of your yard as a "curb strip" or "verge"
Hickey - refers to the Tom and Jerry style raised bump you might get after a hit to the head (also refers to the make-out bruise on your neck, but that's common)

Maybe not entirely specific to Baton Rouge, but the term booksack is definitely a local thing.

Lived in BR for 12 years and never heard any of those.

Grew up outside of Baton Rouge and used each from time to time

Definitely regional, but I literally had no idea this was a regional thing until now. Just asked a bunch of coworkers (west coast). None of them had ever heard the term.

Servitude is a legal term with meaning, specifically, someone else's legal right to use your property for their own purpose. It's not Baton Rouge specific.

We used those terms on the West Bank of greater New Orleans, too. Spit was one thing, but cob was worse.
Servitude any property between a right-of-way and your own. I have a five foot servitude in my backyard between the school fence back there and my own property.
"You hit ya head? Lessee if you got a hickey"
Seems common to me.

BREC Park. NO one calls it park. ITs always a BREC Park.

Meh, I don't think this thread is going to work. Baton Rouge is not really a city where we have our own sayings. Maybe New Orleans with the usual brake tag, neutral ground, make the groceries, etc.

What’s not to like?

We said this in Lafayette. It referred to a particularly nasty, phlegmy one.

I didn't grow up in Baton Rouge and "cobb" and "booksack" were common terms for us.
I've never heard anyone refer to a bump as a hickey anywhere. A hickey is a bruise from getting your neck sucked.

Calling BR "Red Stick" and thinking you're all witty.

Always used booksack growing up in Lafayette.

I've lived in Baton Rouge for about a decade and a half. The only people I have ever heard call Baton Rouge "Red Stick" are people who don't live in Baton Rouge, thinking they are witty. I mean, sure, local businesses will sometimes use it, but no one calls it that in conversation.
