I agree.

The argument is that he should have NOT listened to the medical professionals' advice. But he did listen and made sweeping recommendations to shutdown the economy.

But even that won't be enough to turn the base away from him. A (in their words) destroyed economy and record unemployment as a result of the response he supported and encouraged is not a needle mover for those that were planning to vote for him prior to all this. Politically, a shutdown couldn't hurt him, making it a much easier choice.

Why would a politician do anything other than shutdown when faced with a similar situation in the future? It's not like they'll lose any votes over it.

Are these people paid protesters?

I believe the reason they are protesting is because they are not being paid.

Even in this thread it’s the progs making snide remarks and wanting to keep the economy locked down. Astounding.

Deep South states haven’t been as strict either. Or shut down as long as others

It should be counties or municipalities handling it as necessary moving forward,

Orange County, CA has 28 corona deaths out of a population of 3.1M, so naturally decided to spend money and resources on destroying a skate park with 37 tons of sand just to keep young healthy people from dying of a disease which they have almost zero chance of dying from.

I just pray this doesn't hit a massive second wave.

If I don't get to see Tom Brady playing for the Bucs AND the Gators have their easiest schedule I can remember in a long time...I'll lose my shite.

There's already a thread about these terrorists, but let me ask. If this is an overreaction, then why did Trump act so super early in stopping this. So brave.
the initial two week call was needed when we were still learning about it. The extensions have been the overreaction, IMO.

Always easy to call things out in hindsight though.

Yep easy logical position here: no one is perfect and trump makes mistakes. He made a big mistake on this one I think letting the media actually beat him once.

He is still better than Biden or anyone on the left.

Protests are an important American right which I think is important to uphold. These people should and I think will be allowed to exercise their rights.

I wonder if they have a specific plan of action to recommend that is different from the National and state ones? In other words, do they have detailed and uniform demands they have drafted?

Or us it just open up everything right now? Hospitals, schools, nursing homes, federal state and local government facilities, small medium and large businesses?

More opportunities to pack themselves down with ammo and show off their ARs and other cool guns.

That doesn't really change how it should be handled. If the people of Orange County feel like their local government overstepped its boundaries they need to go to state leadership and the governor should drop the hammer.

We are much too diverse in our own counties, much less states, much less nationally, for wide, sweeping implementation of the re-opening policies.

We like to remind our Dem Governor he has no majority or allies in Frankfort. The rally will probably be small. If it was for gun control, shite it would be hundreds and a lot of guns on the capital steps.

People round here live closer to Nashville than Frankfort. Frankfort is like 3.5 hours and a time zone jump.
