Man what a game. I'm playing as a pyromancer and I just got past that gross arse tree. I don't know why it took me so long to play this, as I loved Sekiro. I guess bloodborne is next. I tried DS3 multiple time, but could never beat the first boss.

DS3 has a pretty hard first boss compared to the previous 2 games. He's kind of all over the place and has difficult to read attacks the first time.

I will say the bosses aren't very difficult until the half way point and then the game smacks you in the face with hard bosses

I fought the tree twice last night. I know what I'm supposed to do but getting those pods on his legs proved tricky for me, but I'm pretty crappy at these games.

I made the mistake of getting the PC version of the original to try and start the series. All they did was port over the XBox game, with controller tips and all. I had no idea what controls did what as it kept saying "Press X" as in the controller's X button. Killed my interest pretty quick.

I should probably just jump to 3, or at least 2. I did get around to getting a controller for my PC, so maybe...

DS1 is the best one though by far, it's totally worth getting the remastered version if you want to buy it again. The original PC port of DS1 was known for being wonky.

They are all good, even the black sheep DS2 is worth playing

Demon Souls, Dark Souls 1-3, Bloodborne, Sekiro

Jump back into DS1 for sure, easily the top one in the series... The world is so interconnected and awesome

If you ever think these games are too hard/obscure go back and check out King’s Field/Shadow Tower from From’s early days

Pontiff still gives me more trouble than any other boss in DS3

What weapon are you using? Two-handing a weapon that has an overhead slash/slam makes it really easy to hit the pods. I think I used a Flamberge my entire first playthrough. The combo of damage, moveset, and style got me hooked.

I'm so ashamed to admit that SotFS might be my favorite of the Soulsborne games.

The lightning pope can go suck a dick. Good God there’s nothing more I hate in the souls series than boss fights with multiple bosses (see Sekiro, the double guardian ape fight).

Also Aldrich the Devourer of Worlds was pretty high on my shite list too right behind the aforementioned John Paul ll.

If I had to do it all over, I'd start as a knight because I like melee, but when I started back I picked a pyromancer. Now I'm not sure what all I should sink my souls into. Im pretty balanced now, but some say dexterity and endurance, others say faith and intelligence. Also is vigor only so you can carry heavier armor without slowing down?

Long sword, which is currently +3. I keep forgetting I can do 2 handed and the skill for that weapon is an upward swipe. So I guess I'll try that.

there are guys that manage to make him look like a total jabroni and beat him without rolling or blocking. idk why he just never clicked for me. I can beat Nameless King without getting touched but still get nervous for Pontiff

I had this and the sequel on my original PS1. Damn fun games. Funny thing is I didn't think either one was all that hard back then.
