Im in the cathedral of the deep right now. Its starting to pick up a bit. I am still using a broadsword at +3. Should I switch to something else. I'm pretty much running a dexterity build, so most greatswords are off the table right now.

Wife is on a zoom call, kids watching netflix, going to just grind souls to get that key. I can't seem to find a way to shortcut it.

Spent a long time in the cathedral last night, got invaded (I'm 0-2), and SHOULD have defeated the Deacons. Tried twice and died from a curse each time right when I thought I was about to finish them off. Googled it and saw what I wasn't doing, and it was too late to start back up.

They'll get their's tonight

Thank God for wikis. Have so much stuff in my inventory, "what am I supposed to do with this?"

ETA Did find a lift to a loft where an archer was perched.............and that was it. Wasn't a shortcut, didn't really make getting to a certain area easier (at least from what I could tell), so not sure what it's for.

If the archer was a blind giant, he helps you on a trail and there is a secret side quest there.

Researched and found out there's a ladder if you walk around the outside of that tower, leads to some goodies. Adding to my to do list tonight.

Did first attempt last night. It was late so I kind of went in just to see it. Was doing ok until the other guys jumped in.

The zone leading up to that fight is such a bitch. Not a fan of farrow keep but it has a lot of lore at least

Felt good to get through it. Getting attacked by those huge tree beasts while in that sludge was kind of the worst.

The beast on that high bridge was a fun challenge as well. Offered quite a lot of souls.

There's one area in particular that blows that view away. No spoilers, but you should reach it after a couple more areas if you follow the normal progression route.

I haven't been able to play much the last couple days, but I killed the two Giants and got my pyro flame up to +4, also went and looked around Farrow Keep for a bit and got two of the flames lit. I'm gonna go tackle the deacons tonight. I've been watching Cowboys playthrough and he makes it look easy.

Yeah he does. Too easy.

It's all lies.

Honestly, up until the Abyss Watchers, they've all been relatively easy once you figure out the mechanics. Deacons is nothing at all if you avoid getting cursed.

Dark Souls 2 was my first game in the souls series, so I never really understood the hate for it and what not. One of my absolute favorite parts is that the mid section of the game sends you to all these oppressive areas like toxic swamps, pitch black dungeons, undead catacombs and just generally dread inducing environments. But when you fight through all that, you’re rewarded with some of the prettiest environments and scenes in the entire game. Dark Souls 3 kind of blows its load early with some of the environments you’re about to encounter.

My best attempt, on phase 2 of the fight.

Then I called in a buddy.

I don't care.
