For whatever reason every weekend report the whole pandemic has been good and then Tuesday's report is bad.
That's why I started doing the rolling average. Tuesday's report is likely bad because hospital admin, coroners, and labs are likely not working with a full-staff. Numbers are compiled on Monday morning, reported to LDH on Monday afternoon, then dumped in the Tuesday report.
From the rolling average today...new tests continue to outpace new confirmed cases, while deaths, hospitalizations, and vents are stable/declining.

Great news today!
Anyone know if Tony Spell and his band of Merry Idiots got together today? Between that and some Easter house gatherings I'd hate to see a spike in hospitalizations in a few weeks (April 26th) that causes us to be grounded for a few more weeks...

Do we know if the test they are posting are the amount done today or yesterday?
More specifically do they represent any correlation to the new cases today.

hospitalizations
I'm starting to lose faith in this number. Hospitals will do anything to put an arse in a bed right now. Most are empty.

Especially in the high risk age group. It's all about obtaining a share of the federal aid dollars.

Church parking lot was full when I passed it around 11

My secretary who is in a high risk group tested positive and was admitted for 4 days as a precaution. She never got oxygen and said she only ever had coughing, low grade fever, and body aches. Once her fever went down for 24 hours she was sent home.

Have there been days with more people hospitalized than the number from today?

New hospitalizations? Yes.
The rolling average charts are tracking new admissions, vent hook ups, etc.

If a church becomes a cluster this weekend they should be forced to donate today's entire tithe to the "Get Louisiana Drunk" foundation, dedicated to opening up a bar tab at all Louisiana bars for esteemed members of the OT.

I just wanna go drink a beer in a bar and watch sports and go out to eat at nice restaurant.
I want to sit on a bar patio with a bag of tobacco and drink beer.
Satterfields is going to be my first spot for beer. I'm gonna need an uber

I don’t understand what your angle is. What point or argument are you trying to make?

Comparing timelines of virus waves to different parishes w different social metrics and dynamics is silliness.

It’s not but that’s besides the point. No one is doing that. Orleans Parish numbers are declining. That’s the point. No one is comparing those numbers to any other parish.
The convention center has over 1000 beds and nothing has been mentioned in the news about that in the past 14 days.
Why is that? Why isn’t the media covering sick and dying black people entering the convention center like they did during Katrina?

NOLA is doing way better than the rest of the state.
NOLA has settled into a positive routine, but that’s where the population density is.

The dense population is a bigger issue than population density. I made a suicide drive through the hood in Central City a few nights ago and the illegal speakeasies and corner drinking sessions were going full tilt.
