Trying to argue that car seats are furniture is such a fricking odd thing I can understand the weird pattern of your logic that a seat is classified as furniture but it’s such a stupid way to look at it

If you asked 100 people if a car seat is furniture, how many of them would say yes?

At its base level that’s exactly what it is a place to have a child sit. A chair.

Who cares? You can call it whatever you want, doesn’t change what it is

This is what happens when I run out of weed dammit. I’ll argue anything just to argue

Not at all. I think it’s a retarded EO that was wayyyy to broad, hence why you see pics like this. There should be no ban, period.

I agree that the EO is silly, but it’s silly on its on merits (or lack there of). We don’t need to conjure up fake news to demonstrate that. The EO clearly provides an exclusion for car seats so whether they’re furniture or not is completely irrelevant. The store is simply wrong here.

I find it interesting that some of the people on this site that are ready to literally erase China over their bullshite about this virus are some of the same people that are willing to spin their own brand of bullshite when it suits them.

I don't give a frick whether or not a car seat is furniture or safety equipment. If I'm at that store and need one I'm grabbing it off the shelf and going through self checkout.

Who goes to buy a car seat the day their child is born?

You know it’s coming?

Sometimes the baby comes sooner than expected?

Sometimes people dont expect American commerce to be shut down around the time their baby is to arrive?

The vast majority of America couldn’t make it a month without a paycheck yet you think that every pregnant mother in America (some of which are teenagers) has their car seat bought well in advance of their child?

Aren't car seats required by law for children under a certain age and size? Are babies not being born any more in Michigan?

my new baby girl was born 8 days ago. I bought the car seat 2 weeks ago. if I couldnt have bought one we would have had to stay at the hospital.

Lol. No they’re not. They’re safety equipment for your vehicle. Per the EO, you can still purchase safety equipment:

quote:

items that are necessary to maintain the safety, sanitation, and basic operation of residences .

I take that to mean the safety of residences.

Not basic safety of residents.

A slight word change would make it covered and make sense. This is what happens when you write and emotional law on a whim. It’s not well thought nor well worded.

Clearly wal mart which at this time would be one of the few places you can buy a car seat took it to not include car seats.

This is no ones fault but the governors.

So chairs aren’t furniture?

Chairs are very much furniture. Car seats are not. Neither are strollers.

A car seat isn’t furniture just like the seat in your car isn’t furniture.

People are already at the store. Why does it matter what they buy? Why does she get to decide what someone buys at Walmart? I hope people keep posting pictures like this and cause an outrage.

You’d have to ask one of resident progressives. It’s only by using their “logic” (I use that in the loosest of terms here) that it makes sense to limit people to buying only what the the government says they need.

Did the governor's orders ban selling baby car seats or did a Walmart employee just put a sign there?

Couldn’t have ordered online? Or borrowed one? You’d just be stranded forever because you couldn’t pick one up at the local Walmart after the birth?
