Child seats for cars ARE essential. What I don’t get is why can’t you sell what’s in your store if your store is considered essential? Sporting stores that sell ammo is considered essential. How can safety equipment for children not be?

I’m sure the governor didn’t call each store in Michigan and tell them what was essential and was isn’t. This is likely an employee or management error or just flat out fake. Stop spreading stupid shite
Stores are prohibited from selling items other than groceries or cleaning products.

Nah man. A sign typed up in MS Word and put in front of a car seat in wal mart for sure means the governor banned their purchase.
So you’re saying the governor DIDNT ban the sale of “non essential items” such as seeds and car seats?

A car seat and garden seeds are non essential but cigarettes and alcohol are?
Agree it's stupid but I don't want trashy people having a nic fit.
Taking away beer would cause riots.

The garden section was also roped off
One could argue growing ones own food is essential
Is the soap / shampoo aisle open but the next aisle (makeup) roped off?
Assuming dog food is ok to buy but toys on the same aisle aren’t?
None of it makes any sense

Wrong. Where do you people come up with this stuff?

Close areas of the store—by cordoning them off, placing signs in aisles, posting prominent signs, removing goods from shelves, or other appropriate means—that are dedicated to the following classes of goods:
Carpet or flooring.
Furniture.
Garden centers and plant nurseries.
Paint.
Executive order (full)

She specified the areas that should to be closed to reduce the number of people in the store and allow more people who are buying essentials... none of areas specified contain car seats.
If Walmart and/or their employees are stupid that's on them.
Michigan Executive Order

I never said anything about seeds.
And yeah, she didn’t ban the sale of car seats. Go read the executive order for yourself instead of blindly believing what others say.
Stores are likely roping off entire sections that the store is interpreting as “non-essential” when they shouldn’t be.
The governor of course should have seen something like this coming when telling stores to do something like this. It was a dumb move.

Que? Since when is a seat not furniture?

This makes zero sense. That means that there would be a higher concentration of people around the essentials which means more likely to get infected. This ban serves zero purpose.

So.... you’re of the mindset that a seat isn’t a piece of furniture?
