JBE's only mistake, IMO, was the fear mongering he did with the endless comparisons to Italy for LA. That was not needed.

Other than that, he is one of the few Dem governors that actually did what they were supposed to do in terms of soliciting the proper help from the Feds. He didn't make it political at any point, unlike the count from Michigan and the whore from Kansas.

as a moderate conservative, i'd agree with this

Good trend on the vents

This stat should be ignored. Doctors are realizing that they were overusing vents to the detriment of the patients. The drop in vents could be because doctors are turning away from them.

Where's "home" in Louisiana?

All over really, I have family in basically every region of the state and visited around a lot growing up. Originally East, then the Bywater for a while..teen years north LA, central, back south again.

I didnt really like north louisiana, Monroe is such an odd place. It had potential in the 90s, but..eh..

We very well may have been on our way to italy status if we didnt do these social distance measures and didnt do “stay at home”.

Oh, bullshite! Italy did social distancing too. It was worse in Italy because they are much older, they smoke like chimneys, their socialized health care sucks, they have higher contact among generations, and they kiss everyone they meet.

Not a fan of his, but he probably needed to fear-monger. That's how you get people to take it seriously. Maybe if the Mexican President had fear-mongered early they would not have had that giant music festival.

Not sure about overall population, but the high school is 80 % African American, 10% White and 10% Hispanic.

Doctors are also getting better at knowing which medications to use. They are much better at treating this than they were a few weeks ago.

Which is exactly why I've been isolating at home and limiting contact with others. If I get this, I want it to be when they've figured it all out and the hospitals are not overrun.

Since I'm learning the data isn't consistently reflecting the previous 24 hours, I've made three charts using the 7 day rolling average of the information from the historical log in the OP.

The data is based on the increase (or decrease) from the previous day:

The leading indicator is confirmed cases, which clearly has a declining rolling average of new cases.

Same here. I'll be happy when the hospitalization numbers go down steadily. Glad to see the vent numbers going down, but it will be great when the hospitalization number drop more consistently.

Anybody have a source for the availability numbers?

If you're in Louisiana check out the op. I printed it out on April 4 and now fill it in each day when the LDH posts their numbers at noon. My eyes can't deal with the small type on the screen.

Minus the socialized healthcare that description sums up a lot of Louisiana.

Not at all actually.

The two main factors: age and living in dense areas aren’t at all like louisiana
