Know anyone that's not going to pay their rent/mortgage payment this month?

Friend of mine is a laid off waiter, among other jobs (painting, etc).
He says he's not going to pay his rent this month.
Not sure how that's going to turn out.

Most of my friends are bartenders. I haven’t asked, but I’d have to guess none of them can make rent since they haven’t had an income :(

My tenant. She texted me and said she was struggling but just landed a job and would figure it out. I texted her she doesn't need to worry about rent in April and it isn't a loan its a gift for keeping my house clean plus you've never missed a payment in 5 years. I got an amazing hallmark card today.

Good for you. I hope that karma you put out comes back around for you somehow.

I think once the stimulus stuff wears out around October... and all the businesses have to make the real cuts.. is when u will see what the businesses have to do... and thats when u will see the mortgages becoming delinquent in large numbers... and they will prob offer relief on payments.. for a predetermined time... like 6 mos interest only or principle only, or just 6 of “no payments” forgiven... or let everyone go default and some kind of reset... who knows st this point... still too many unknowns...

Thanks. I had to evict the tenant before her and that was much more costly than giving her a month free to a really good person in a rough patch.

My friend's daughter is out of work.

She told the landlord she'd pay enough to cover his mortgage, not a penny more. Landlord agreed, so it worked out for both parties.

(Trust me, you DON'T want pics)

Well the site has done nothing but continually crash, so most people have not yet started to receive it.

It’s also like $200. So it ain’t gonna pay the rent in addition to bills and food.

Good for you. My friend is living in one of those apartments that is owned by a company that has a zillion apartments all over town. Not sure how they're going to handle all of their tenants. I know they must have a lot of University students, who most have gone back home. They'll probably not pay any more rent, either.

Yeah no they don’t have rent because they didn’t save any money or have a budget! Jesus

There is a 600 per week Federal stimulus added to that plus the 1200 stimulus.
