Due to this map:

What that map doesn't articulate is how rural the South is and how many of us need to drive several miles to get food from the grocery store and even further for medical care. There's a reason why Jefferson and Madison County aren't filled in on that map of Alabama. That's where Birmingham and Huntsville are located.

How many of those continuing to drive in the South were New Yorkers trying to escape to the South?

This is what happens when assholes who live 20,000 people to a square mile start preaching about people who live in the sticks

no shite. it is a mile to get to the front of our neighborhood. So we are routinely traveling 5-10 miles just to get to the store and back.

I've been driving a lot -- just to get out of the damned house. That doesn't mean I've been hanging out with people. Geeze

States like Montana, the Dakotas, and Wyoming are in similar distance predicaments; so I’m not sure that’s the rationale.

That said, this map addresses so many confounding variables, it’s mind numbing.

The data may be accurate, but it’s ridiculous to draw any conclusions from it.

Wow powerful, leftist are so much better than people on the right. They're smarter, healthier, better looking, more moral, and everything. Especially coastal journalists. They're just a tier above the rest of us simpletons. Why do we even try?

It tickles me when authoritarians demand a national quarantine.

Do they not know that there is no national police force? The FBI and U.S. Marshalls are too few to enforce it.

Even the National Guard isn't large enough if say, 1/3 of the population suddenly left the house.

They have no concept of what would be involved.

Compare the number of cases in south vs north and it's not even close.
People aren't living all upon top of each other.

I really don't give a frick what anyone in New York thinks about the south... Aren't they like killing folks faster there than anywhere else on the planet at this point?

There aren't rural states anywhere else besides the South?
