New York Times should worry about New York. They messed everything up.

Most people who live in Montana, the Dakotas, and Wyoming live in cities due to the massive distances involved in those states. For instance, a third of all the people who live in the state of Wyoming live in the cities of Cheyenne and Casper.

This may play a part as well.

What a weird point to try and make either way.

That map is groundwork for the upcoming narrative: “It’s all republican, racist, sexist, bigoted, homophobic, xenophobic, christian, redneck, white male’s fault this happened to us.”

not really.
there are VAST areas of absolute nothing but land out there.
then little pockets of self sustaining communities. within those communities, they have pretty much everything they need.

And those Yankee coastal elite fricks wonder why people from the south and rural areas don’t like them...

I literally have to drive a mile just to get to the end of my driveway.

Raffe's ignorant halfcocked stats slant reminds me of that scene in Prince of Tides..

When Nick Nolte's character Tom hold's Jeroen Krabbe's million dollar violin out the window demanding apology for being an ignorant Yankee elitist.

While equally rural (actually probably even more rural), there just aren’t any people in many of those counties out west. Can’t have data about movement when the Elk don’t have cell phones...

They generally don't just "run to town" to pick something up.

Also, weather has slowed a lot of movement during this time of year.

You think the south is more rural than out west? Not even close.
