This is dangerous thought and I am perfectly okay with people like you being shot.

because they sell items that are considered essential
like appliances, home repair items, etc

You gonna reply to my every post, stalker? How many times I gotta tell you I’m working, my wife is working, and we don’t qualify for any extra money.

Good. Let them fill the stores and burn it down with them all in it.

But if the people on this forum are any indication, the vast majority of them are cowering behind their government in fear.
Or maybe they're just doing one simple thing they can to help alleviate the spread of a devastating virus?

I think the question that people should be asking is why does the government get to decide what businesses are essential and what businesses are non-essential?
There's no concern for each other, just themselves. It's pretty sad honestly.

Well this claim is based on literally nothing
Its based on my experience....which by definition, is LITERALLY something.
Stop being one of those morons that has to use the word "literally" in literally every argument. Literally

Why are Home Depot and Lowe’s allowed to remain open?
They provide actual valuable services

And my grocery store has an army of employees wiping down carts, check out lanes, credit card machines, etc.
This should be done at every store regardless of the current hysterical epidemic. People are disgusting.

quote:Financial destruction causes that too.
Everyone knows there is a financial impact of this. Some people are just concerned about killing their fellow man as well.
That is a fact.
Increased homelessness, suicides, crime, all result in study proven reductions of years off of lives and in deaths.
Why do you neglect that fact?
quote:Apparently, people like you want to put people out on the street.
Unfortunately, people like you are not.
There was a 40% increase in homelessness in NYC after the last financial crisis.
Does that matter to you at all?

I work in healthcare consulting
My wife works in a clinical setting
They are already at capacity in her 2 hospitals
The issue isn’t really safety, overall. It’s more of a “let’s not completely overwhelm our healthcare system”
Atlanta, Charlotte, among others are at capacity in terms of beds

i don't shop at tacky budget stores selling hallmark surplus items, i wouldn't know

The quicker people take it seriously, the quicker this ends and we can go about our lives. People just aren't willing to make a temporary sacrifice to make that happen.

certainly does not provide an "essential" need
