1. Yes I can be dismissive of Forde. There’s a reason his career has taken a nose dive, he’s a clown. He sees this whole thing as an opportunity at relevance. Problem is, no one really cares about corruption in college basketball recruiting.
2. No that’s not why Alleva said that, he said that because he’s a miserable, bitter prick. He botched the handling of it and it cost him his job

I’m not sure why you’re so dismissive of Forde. I agree he’s an asshat but you can bet that he, and the other sportswriters, have sources in the NCAA.

The only "sources" that have leaked anything about this subject have been a felon desperate to cast blame on anyone else and the leading candidate for worst athletic director in the history of the NCAA who was angry about losing his job due to his complete bungling of LSU's response to these weak allegations.

This man has a voice in print and a real hatred for LSU.

Apparently.

Woodward better back Wade.

If he’s in the right, sure. But Woodward inherited Wade and all this mess—he didn’t hire him—and as Athletic Director and alum who has made it very obvious he wants what’s best for the LSU athletic department, if he determines that Wade is not worth all this trouble (i.e. NCAA and public scrutiny) and decides to cut bait, I’m gonna trust that he is doing what he feels is in the best interest of both LSU basketball and the LSU athletic department. And that decision—were it to be made—would be done with infinitely more knowledge, information, thoughtful conversations, and insight than any of us are privy to.

I like Wade a lot. I hope he stays the next 30 years and wins a few National Championships. But to act like it’s either Wade or Johnny Jones is retarded. Should Woodward be forced to make a move (based on what’s already occurred), I trust he’ll identify and woo another great basketball coach at LSU. Not only does he have a ton of political capital (along with financial), but this would be his 1st major coaching hire, and he’s going want to knock it out of the park.

Again, I hope this blows over and nothing more comes of it. But if the toothpaste is already out of the tube due to Wade being a bit careless and Woodward deems him a liability, life will go on. The LSU brand has never been stronger. We will find another good coach. Let’s just hope, God forbid Wade is let ago, it happens after this signing class is on campus.

"will it leave the program in shambles . . . .?" The answer is yes and, maybe, Mr. Wade in prison.

I'll just say it: Wade isnt K or Calipari. He can be replaced, and we have Woodward in place to do it.

Kind of ready to move on.

The question is why the pursuit of LSU's coach. In all this yammering I see little written by this writer pointing to more obvious violations?

All of this is brought about by a dirty 'recruiter' who seeks monetary gain off the backs of players.

I bet Pat Forde is just aching to find some thing on LSU football.

I have never once said Wade would be fired until last night. That is Glen West reporting. He’s on the ground in BR. It’s not Pat Forde. How many different people need to warn you before you see what’s coming?

You really don’t understand how investigations work, do you? We’ve all but heard him cheating on the phone line. And this wasn’t the first time Wade has been a target by the NCAA. He is sloppy & careless, and I’m supposed to sit here & think they can’t find more information when they formally investigate? you really do live in your own world. You are going to look so stupid over all the yelling & name calling you’ve done over this.

1. Basketball (along with all other aspects of life have been put on hold). That means recruiting, team building, workouts, coaching/teaching. No big name coach is going to want to take a new job in this current climate.

2. If Woodward is cutting bait then that means he believes LSU is about to be hit with sanctions. While a traditional basketball power like Louisville can hire a new big name coach under those circumstances (Chris Mack), LSU likely couldn't. No big name guy would want to come here under those circumstances.

The bottom line IS that an investigation into LSU is still ongoing. And it is likely it won't just "go away". But I would hope Woodward would want to fight it like Kansas is doing with Bill Self.

Wade probably does rub some people the wrong way because he is intensely focused on being the best and hyper-aggressive. But is that not the kind of guy you want? Someone who is driven every day to be the very best?

I've criticized Wade because of his teams lack of emphasis on defense, but I think it would be a TERRIBLE mistake to cut ties with him. I see Wade's situation at LSU like Bruce Pearl at Auburn. Sure, there are probably some added headaches in dealing with a guy like that. But if you ask Auburn I bet they are ok with being a true national contender in basketball for the first time in school history.

Just that he thinks infractions are imminent. And that at SI prob has good sources, starting with one Ross Delly

I hope I’m wrong. I’m just worried. The more traction this gets the more pressure is on LSU. Whether the NCAA has uncovered anything new or not.

Maybe there will be an NOA, but i dont think anyone knows that yet or not. Also dont think its a given wade would be fired if there were allegations. Lsu would still have the choice.
With that said, this just looks like a summary of forde’s article. Dude definitely has an axe to grind with wade, seems personal
