It’s not a stretch. I remember on here three weeks ago when people were verbally being abused for saying March madness might be cancelled. Look now everything is cancelled. We still have not even put a dent in the numbers. They keep going up and out social distancing and lock down isn’t even that strict.

Well in the majority of America’s opinion damn near anything the Democrats present or say is absurd.

I think he is overreacting at this point. I think it is possible in the worst case scenario. Now I think it is more likely they will play games without fans. But I only see that happening if they cannot get a handle on this or if it has a second peak come the fall like some are saying is possible. if his prediction is correct then we have some very serious problems and a lot of our lives will be ruined at that point.

That would mean NFL camps which normally open late July, won't open this season (a full 4 months away).

Would also mean college camps won't open in early August (over 4 months away).

Not saying it's impossible, but.......

Sure and China is back to business as usual. By May/June we’ll be getting back to normal. MZlB will start back up. Golf will be going, summer vacations in full swing and football mini camps and summer conditioning in full swing.

I love Herbstreit personally but this seems like a substantial stretch.

No it isn't. We haven't even hit the peak of this virus yet and the United States just hit 100,000 cases. I think it is pretty far fetched to assume that a typical NFL & CFB season would take place this year.

No one said this. From the beginning the experts have said it has a .20 mortality rate.

bullshite. From FEbruary to early March they were saying mortality rate of 1-3%. It's 1/5 of the downside everywhere outside of Italy. They were WRONG but they want us to appeal to their authority

I think there's a very real chance we at least have a delayed CFB/NFL season

This should mostly clear up by late summer to early fall. We haven't hit the peak of infections yet.

On some positive news, the vast majority of people who contract it will only get mild symptoms (my worst one so far has been a 104 degree fever that went away with some Tylenol) and we'll be back to watching LSU sports soon.

Stay strong everyone, and stay safe!

Wouldn’t change much for Herbie as it would just be another year Ohio State doesn’t win a title.

Unfortunately China is realizing they were premature in opening back up. There are signs that the spread there is still at a high level with aerial views of lines at hospitals and recent closure of theaters. Hope I’m wrong.

The only way anything turns back to normal is if this thing turns into seasonal or it mutates dying out. Everything else it lingers around for 18 straight months until a vaccine is on the table to the public.

You people need to wake up. Healthcare is swamped especially in NO and in many key cities around the country. Even if turned into seasonal it's most likely returning in the fall/winter so yeah...no football unless they can immediately shut the virus down with stringent techniques if it surfaces back up. Worst case scenario is it's not seasonal and it skull fricks us without giving a break. That's a possibility as nobody knows if it's seasonal yet and in the hotter climates right now it's difficult to know since it's mostly in poor healthcare countries that probably aren't reporting anyway.
