Saw Radiohead open for REM years ago. Creep was just getting popular, but most of the crowd still didn't know it. Michael Stipe was in the crowd in a wig during Radiohead's set, then admonished the crowd during REM's set for not paying more attention to Radiohead and called them the next big band. Gotta say, he nailed that. I only remember Creep from their set.

I saw him interviewed on Radiohead, wherein he said 'this band's so talented, it's scary'.

RATM opening Lollapalooza in 93' with Primus and AIC as headliners...Tool was second band up.

Also Radiohead opening for REM in 95', not sure how much you guys remember about that concert but it was quite strict. Everyone had to stay pretty much seated until almost the end of the concert and I had a pocketful of herb that went to waste, no way to burn in there.

In the early 80’s Stevie Ray Vaughn opened for The Moody Blues...contrast in style to say the least. One of them admitted in a later interview that he blew them off the stage.

You want a contrast in styles? On Spring Break at South Padre Island in 1988 I saw Richard Marx open for Triumph.

I saw Cheap Trick when they opened for Foreigner in the late 1970's, and George Thorogood when he opened for the Rolling Stones in 1981. My brother saw KISS when they opened for Blue Oyster Cult in the early 1970's.

System of a Down opened for Incubus in like '98 at the Varsity. I vividly remember a guy called "Stuff" wiping the entire pit area out during the SOAD set.

Would have to be Taylor Swift.

I believe it was 2006-2007 and she opened up for Kenny Chesney. Pat Green and Sugarland were the scheduled openers, but Pat Green got sick.

Swift’s only big song at the time was ‘Tim McGraw’. My high school gf of the time thought I was a bad motherfricker for getting tickets to that
