remember when stamped steel cased cartridge AK ammo used to be like 10cents a round...and that wasn't that long ago.

I remember when .22LR wasn't about $.05 per round either...

I'm really torn on if I want an AK or AR. Seems like a quality AR is cheaper and easier to acquire, budget aks seem like a crapshoot.

Look into M&P 15-22. .22LR ammo is super cheap. Doesn't pack a lot of punch, but a great survival gun that doesn't break the bank.

Have a bunch of ARs and AKs. I like AKs a lot more mostly just for collecting purposes and I just find them a lot more interesting overall. That being said, I would absolutely recommend an AR-15 over an AK right now. You can get a very good quality AR for the money right now whereas AKs have really inflated in value. Also AK mags are more expensive and they take a lot more tinkering and research to accessorize vs AR-15s are insanely easy.

I had a colt AR15 that I sold for a nice profit when colt quit selling to the public. It was a fun toy but I couldnt justify keeping it when I could sell it for what they were going for.

I think an AR10 or M1A is more my speed. But an AR15 is pretty damn practical and if we keep having these kind of panics every decade, there will be a point I could probably trade it for a truck

Yes, part of it is a "bullet", fixed into a shell, that is fitted with a primer and powder, together they make a "cartridge" or "round".

This is about the level of gun talk I'd expect on the Poliboard.

Yea I need to finish building my AR-10, already have a stripped aero lower, just need to order the rest of the parts. Maybe I’ll use my government stimulus money for that.

As an AK aficionado, what you said is true. PSA is trying to change that so you may be able to get an AK that is quality made and doesn't cost arm and leg.

Isn’t a shell for casings filled with multiple projectiles (i.e. shotgun shell)?

AR rounds are Bullets because they fire a single projectile

I hope so. I really like the AK more than the AR on a philosophical level. Bigger bullet, more crudely built. It should be much cheaper than the AR but market saturation has really beat those ar prices into the ditches.

Yeah the AK party was over a long time ago.

Back in the day the guns and ammo were super cheap. Wish I would have bought more.
