Fair enough, well glad the folks that really need it are getting it. Know several bartenders who desperately need something

The people making more than that limit are likely losing much much more than the folks that are getting it.

Recipients should put their money in the stock market and ride it back up and x10 their money.

the way it currently reads is that you needed to earn at least $2500 in qualifiy income in 2018 or you get ZERO

not sure if the final bill will change

Can you subtract your losses from the market arse-raping of the past few weeks from your annual income?

What if you filed single for 2018 but got married later that year and have not filed 2019?

Yup. Totally my own fault. But this caught me at a bad time. Make over the limit, but just remodeled a house. Had over 6 months safely net, but leveraged too much in the stock market after using cash on the renovations. I won’t die. But uncomfortable times ahead. Lucky I’m 20 years from retiring. But watching that much money vanish is nauseating. I may lose my job and savings (not likely but possible). But I can’t get shite from this. Again, that’s my fault for not keeping the cash reserves I typically would.

Fine if I can’t have a check I’ll take tax incentives.

can’t believe most people on here thought they’d qualify. Almost none of us here get those earned income tax credit checks so I assumed we’d mostly be excluded.

Well the fricker was saying all Americans will get checks. Instead it's all Americans 75k and under. I don't understand why there are limits since all are affected and losing money no matter the person or salary.

You think people who just got $3,000-10,000 in EITC money for having kids on welfare should get checks and not the elderly on social security who can’t work and have medicine, insurance, and bills to pay?

It certainly isn't a thread about the rich getting richer.

Why would they use 2018 tax returns with information from over a year ago? A lot of people have divorced, had kids, died, and gotten married since then and don’t have the same direct deposit accounts they had on 2018 taxes bc they’re divorced.

What about all the people who divorced and had kids in 2019? That’s not reflected on 2018 returns.
