Short term- nice time to fill up the gas tank with cheap gas!
Except I don't need gas since there's no where to go

But the price at the pump hasn't dropped a penny in 10 days. You can bet if the price per barrel increased by $30, we'd see a price at the pump increase immediately. frickers.
All he is saying is it takes the price of gas at the pump alot longer to go down then when it goes up. Price of Oil goes up 20 cents 2 days later the price at the pump shoots up . Oil goes down 20 cents in 2 days you see it at the pump 2 weeks later

Figures. We are always surprised that in Louisiana where all the oil comes from is so expensive for gas.
The further you go from Houston into Cenla the higher the gas is. We always fill up around Deweyville and try to make it back there on that tank. If not we will put $5 or $10 depending on how much driving we do in La, to get us back into Texas.

Y’all I’m starting to think Vladimir Putin isn’t quite the strategic mastermind I’ve been led to believe he is

In this case, he is. Gather a ton of currency reserves sine 2014. In a much stronger position than the Arabs.

Baton Rouge regularly has the cheapest gas prices in the country.

Could Trump cut off all oil imports? I get that it’s a global commodity, but how about make it not global for us, cut off imports to keep American oil companies afloat while SA and Russia Nash this out. Or just take Yemens side in the war and start bombing the shite out of Tehran,

quote:Well storage capacity is a finite amount. And when price or demand is down you go into contango and store as much as possible and wait for it to recover. I'd bet pipelines into Cushing from markets are getting full right now.
Why would storage space run out?

I pass a few truck stops on the way home. Have seen diesel go from $2.27 last week to $1.97 today. Gas was 1.89.

It is $1.73 in Houston or was yesterday. May be even cheaper today. It was over $2 a week ago.
Where did you see that? I gassed up today at $1.76 with a $.05 discount with my rewards. But before the discount $1.81 was the cheapest I saw.
Hell, the place across the street from my shop is still at $2.35 for regular.

Really feel bad for Exxon. To help them out, I'm going to get in my V-10 F-250 and start driving in huge circles around the country. Hope that helps!

Thinking my son, in the oil business, told me a few yrs ago that the actual cost to physically make a barrel itself was $23 or so? Do that math.
The cost to find and produce a barrel of oil varies widely. It can be as low as $5 or as high as $100

We're going to need a 'Trucks For Sale' board pretty soon.

Nat gas has traded negative out of the Waha hub multiple times in the past year. But that was also in part because people were willing to take the loss on gas knowing they'd make it up with the crude and ngls.
This. The only way crude oil goes negative is if other products (nat gas, Y-grade) make up the difference. Even then, it’s unlikely - a huge number of low-GOR wells would go offline long before the price reached $0.
It amazes me how Saudi Arabia has completely run OPEC into the ground over the past ~6 years with these price wars. You’d think they would have learned their lesson after they failed to price shale out of the market.
