It’ll be interesting to see how many of the “keep Clemson at #1 until they lose” crowd will say the same thing about LSU.

I can see the low expectations for LSU considering the losses on defense, but A&M? Seriously, what have they done since Jimbo got there except write gigantic checks for underachievement?

I'll start pretending to care what ESPN thinks about our football team after our baseball team chokes again in the post season.

LSU lost almost their whole team. Most of those other teams have a lot coming back or significant pieces to their offense or defense coming back.

In 2016 Ohio St had 6 starters total coming back on offense and defense. EVERYBODY had them projected as a playoff contender. This was literally a month after Urban had his worst passing attack since his year after Tebow. They lost Zeke and Michal Thomas to the draft along with 7 other early exits and multiple seniors. In 2016 they ended up going 11-1 in the regular season with their lone loss to eventual conference champ Penn St on the road by 5 points. Now they were blanked by Clemson in the semis, but that's besides the point.

Anybody with any kind of projection skills should project LSU as a playoff contender ahead of TAMU and Wisconsin. Now it would be different if they only ranked the top five, but top 10, no doubt LSU should be there.

Looks like LSU will have to snatch that respect again this year.

Interesting to see Texas and TAMU on that list.

Same as last year. We were dark horses and look what happened.

Last year at this time, we were a 10-3 team returning almost everything.

We might have been a dark horse because Bama, but we were definitely on the radar.

Dude, its march. Its filler because there is nothing to talk about.

Also, we lost a ton of production and the guys under them aren't as well known. Its expected. Stop getting you panties in a wad.

All you have to do is make the playoffs again and ESPN will put LSU on every pre season playoff list for 10 years.

Not that anyone really cares what ESPN thinks before the season starts. Let me guess, Texas and Michigan in the playoffs?

You nailed it my partner. The SEC/country is in for a rude awakening if they think LSU slides back in '20.

Kind of my thoughts here. It doesn't surprise me that they would have LSU outside of the top 10, it's kind of what they do. And, the only team that surprises me is A&M; Wisc & ND always get a lot of love form the media/ESPN.

I think the media will continue to discount LSU this year because they lost Burrow, Brady, & Aranda. I also won't be surprised to see them hesitant to move LSU in the top 5 until the FL game, and will not hesitate to drop them to high teens if they have 1 early loss.

If Brady and an extra linebacker had come back they would salivating over us. Its up to O and the team to prove them wrong again.

It's pretty clear that the sports media has put LSU in the 'one hit wonder' category.
