Does anybody think Corn Pop is a real person?

Has anybody tried to track down Corn Pop? That whole story just seems weird. I'm thinking Biden may be just remembering it wrong...

I don't even know the damn story. 
I see Corn Pop referenced all the time and I don't know who he is other than someone who Joe Biden apparently beat the hell out of at some point. He also shares a name with a once popular breakfast cereal.

If I made up the name of a fictitious person I could throw out 500 names an hour for a year and never come up with the name Corn Pop. There is a Corn Pop. Joe didn't make it up. Unless it's an imaginary friend who lived under his bed when he was a small child.

There was a real Corn Pop who lived in Wilmington, DE and died in 2016. No idea if he ever threatened Joe Biden with a switch blade. This story is hilarious whether it’s true or not.

According to an obituary posted on Legacy.com via Delaware Online, William L. Morris “passed away with family by his side on Dec. 2, 2016. Home going services will be held at Mother UAME Church 701 E 5th street on Saturday Dec. 10th. Viewing will be from 10-12pm and services following. Corn Pop was actually a grade school child, named after his favorite cereal. Joe's fear of black folks turned Corn Pop into the figure from the story we've all heard.
Watch, if the actual person turns up he'll be a dozen years younger than Biden.
