I have no doubt Corn Pop is/was a real person; it's tough to make up nicknames like you find in real life. I think that story came from Joe falling asleep while watching The Outsiders or West Side Story.

He was a real person. He died a few years ago. I tracked it down months ago and read his obituary.

Yes he was a real person. Someone found an obituary for someone from Biden's hometown who went by Corn Pop and the dates match.
