Looks like the guy has already confessed.

"producing and distributing pre-pubescent child pornography" - This also seems to lay to rest the possibility that this was a 40 year old man with 17 year old girl he thought was older scenario.

quote:

When State Police Trooper Jason Boyet was called into Troop L headquarters for an interview with investigators last week, he admitted sending and receiving pornographic images of children, according to an affidavit of probable cause for his arrest.

Boyet, who was named Trooper of the Year in 2018, was arrested Feb. 12 on one count producing and distributing pornography involving juveniles as part of an investigation by the FBI and Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit.

The investigation is continuing and could result in additional counts, State Police have said.

According to documents, State Police were contacted by the FBI on Feb. 11. The FBI had received a complaint that someone, later allegedly identified as Boyet, was producing and distributing pornographic images on a web-based application.

The initial complaint, logged by Trooper Nichole Barbe, said that the agency was contacted "in regards to a suspect that was producing and distributing pre-pubescent child pornography in Tangipahoa Parish."

Investigators contacted Boyet after they identified an IP address linked to the images as coming from Boyet's home, the documents said. They asked him to come to Troop L headquarters where he was read his rights.

"Boyet admitted to sending pornographic photographs of (name redacted) and sharing the photographs on the...application from his cellular phone," the affidavit says.

He also admitted to receiving pornographic images of other young children, it says.

Just wondering if something like this has an effect on past arrests/convictions that predate, but run concurrent with his own crimes?

I'm really stoned,..and it just seems like if he were a judge or DA..his cases would be reviewed? So is an arresting officer who gathered evidence just as important to a case..?

And if so, what recourse or action could be taken by the individuals who were convicted with him being a large part of their conviction?

Way to blow one of the most laid back, highly paid, highly promoted jobs in law enforcement in the country.

Highway patrolmen in Louisiana handle traffic matters, make well over 100k, and every time you turn around they are having a press conference or making public awareness videos to promote themselves.

And idiots like this throw it all away and give everyone in law enforcement a bad reputation.
Terrible.

What is the connection to his crimes and him arresting other criminals?

I dont know. I said I was stoned and youre answering my questions with questions.

To shorten it down,..during the time period of him doing his porn crimes, and I'm assuming it was years..but in whatever timeline can be proven, im assuming he had something to do with some arrests and convictions.

What I'm wondering about,..do those people he arrested have any ground to appeal legally? being that an officer involved is now a proven POS who was willingly involved in highly illegal activity at the time, and it was his word that a conviction was helped to secure.

I dont know, maybe having a crooked officer involved in your case who was doing worse shite than you sounds like an argument

Unless you think he planted evidence on everyone he arrested, I don't really see the connection.

Merely possessing kiddie porn is one thing and something you could have a chance of arguing you were framed or negotiating for the best possible plea deal.

But producing and distributing? Especially under 13 years old? That is another thing entirely and should earn you a sentence of life in prison because pedos who create the supply are forever a danger to the public.
