Disagree.

The child is still be exploited.

Look at it this way.

Your daughter is molested and filmed while molested.

Are you OK for pedos to pass around that video 1000s of times to other pedos to enjoy? I mean its not really hurting her right?

No...she is still a victim (and will always be a victim of that crime)...she is still being exploited....and that video should be illegal to possess and share.

Ex Cop Pedo won't last long in gen-pop i'd imagine.

The one pedo I know about wasn't even a cop and he got passed around so much he had to check into the med ward with anal tearing and a whole new host of STDs.

Made me smile when I heard about how much fun he was having in Angola. This cop will have to be in solitary from day 1. Hopefully he does the honorable thing and kills himself well before and saves us all a lot of money.

Someone mentioned not long ago that there's a special unit at David Wade for especially high risk prisoners (high profile pedophiles, ex-cops, etc). He'll likely be placed there I'd imagine.

Again, where am I saying otherwise? People on this forum have a real problem with inserting their own meanings into conversations. Read the words as they are and stop trying to imply things that aren't being implied. Stay off to jump to conclusions mat.

Of course not. My whole point was the difference in reaction and punishment for pedos that view child pronography versus pedos that produce child pronography.

To me, there's a huge difference in violation here.

Unless you think he planted evidence on everyone he arrested, I don't really see the connection.

obviously it'll depend on the case, but witness credibility can be an issue here.

Problem with LSP is that hiring and promotions are not based on merit, rather it’s all about who you know, classic case of cronyism.
After the Edmonson fiasco,Col.Reeves was promoted and touted as a paragon of integrity and honesty.
Couple years go by,his son gets an untimely transfer to detectives, he claims not to have been involved. The thing is,the transfer of his son was orchestrated by Captains that had been recently promoted by Reeves, couple received subsequent promotions after the fact.
Troopers are constantly being arrested or named in questionable incidents. The latest I’ve read about is Lt.Col. Jason Starnes wife being given a large and questionable raise by OMV.
It seems like the entire LSP needs to be dissolved and start over from scratch,I don’t know how that would be possible however.
It’s sad,I want to respect the police and they do put theirselves out there in dangerous situations .But at same time, every time I see a trooper,I wonder who they knew to get their job.

Why would it , unless some improper action could be proven in connection with the arrest?

Not how it works. LE testimony is based almost entirely on "credibility" of the officer. If he isn't deemed credible, even relating to something he does off the job, then prosecutors won't use him to testify. This guy, being a Trooper, probably wasn't making a ton of non-traffic related arrests but those will definitely get looked into by the DA's office. It is almost pro forma that the DA will just dismiss any pending cases this guy had. What are they going to do? Put him on the stand in prison orange to testify? Past cases will get brought back up by defense attorneys and the same issue applies. Would the jury have listened to his testimony favorably if they knew he was a pedophile?

The standard is usually that if he was the only officer testifying then they will vacate the sentence and let the guy he arrested go. If there were other officers present or physical evidence, then the DA may decide to fight it. This played out with the DEA guys from Hammond a while back as well and tons of cases quietly went away.

DA's are much, much more willing to deal if the defense attorney is discreet about it. No one wants to drag all of this out in open court.

Didn’t he just graduate from one of their academies recently? How long does he have on the job?

Must be the next Sir Robert Peele.

Well, at least I know why you didn't use "New details emerge on THE LSP kiddie porn arrest" as your title.

What he did was sick. When it involves kids thats next level so frick him.

Also, being a LSP, I would have thought he would have been smart enough to not use a phone (his phone) that can be directly tied to him.

Not to excuse anything this weirdo did, but cops have a way of torturing the English language to their own ends.

"Producing" could mean changing the format of a file to something smaller... maybe.

Kevin Reeves son graduated LSP academy April 2017 and transferred to detective division November 2018.Apparently some troopers complained to Robert Burns of Sound Off Louisiana that the transfer “transpired far faster than should ordinarily be the case”.

That’s fricked up. The standard in the LE world is 3 years from the academy before transfer to any type of specialized unit.
