The DC Defenders, STL Battlehawks, and the Houston Roughnecks have pretty decent offenses and are fun to watch. The rest of the teams are pretty terrible offensively. If the rest of the teams can get their shite together it will be a pretty decent league.

It needs to be proven as successful, and have an agreement with the NFL where backup QBs from the NFL who never play can get actual game reps. That would immediately improve the offenses

They just need to setup a XFL team for each NFL team and make an agreement with the NFL teams where they send players to their XFL team and can bring players up to the NFL from their XFL team. Win / win for both leagues

No. That is a loss for the NFL.

THE XFL is a competitor. You don’t legitimize your competitor.

I mean if that did happen they would be more compliments than competitors. If the best players in the XFL are technically NFL employees, the NFL holds all the leverage

It is still legitimatizing the XFL.

Either they merge or nfl buys them out. But why would they? It’s a crap product. And any player that has been on your squad during the season isn’t gonna want to play. They need to recover.

But they're not getting a penny from TV "contracts"

Sorry,as soon as established "stars" begin to emerge they're gonna jump to the NFL.It might get a following from fans wanting to see their CFB stars who couldn't hack it in the NFL.

What? WTH would you want to do this?

Win/Win? Who the hell is gonna pay the salaries for these teams? It ain't gonna be the NFL

They subsidized NFL Europe/WLAF and lost untold millions.

In theory, I like this idea. I have watched the XFL, but haven't watched an entire game. If there was a team that was linked to each NFL team, then I would have a team to pull for (I am a Saints fan so obviously I would pull for the team linked to the Saints) and I would be interested in seeing potential players for the other 31 teams.

The problem is creating and then maintaining good offenses. Teams can always find decent wide receivers and running backs, but if a QB or offensive lineman (particularly a tackle) is good, he's probably in the NFL. If a QB or offensive lineman shows that he is good by playing in the XFL, he will likely get poached by an NFL team, making that XFL offense he was on worse.

The one thing i wonder is how are they going to deal with the good players getting poached by the NFL. Seems like it will be real hard to establish stars if a guy like PJ Walker gets signed as some 3rd string or backup in the NFL.

i dont think there will really be much of that going on.

the level of competition is a lower talent level so its like 4th stringers playing 4th stringers so a good XFL player doesnt mean they can even earn an NFL roster spot, doesnt mean they cant, just that it will be a few rare exceptions rather then a regular thing to happen

Agreed, I do think the XFL will start seeing a lot of 1 year contracts too. Players will think they just need 1 year of XFL and they'll get noticed.

Eh, talent and quality of play will always be an issue for the XFL. Expanding to 4x the current # of teams is going to heavily dilute that talent pool.

I still think they start the season too early.

They need some recognizeable names at least from the college game. Tebow like guys that did not translate well to the NFL

I do like, however, that the XFL is using smaller venues

The XFL isn't trying to compete with the NFL. The AAF was trying to become a feeder league for the NFL. The XFL is trying to be its own entity. I'm just waiting on the day when one of these top high school recruits stick the middle finger to the NCAA and opt to get paid in the XFL.

I don't like the coaches/players being mic'd up. I guess the players can't really do anything about it, but I can't imagine quality coaches wanting to coach in the XFL with their playcalls broadcast on TV and having to be interviewed mid-game.

You can make XFL money at Mcdonalds. Nobody is going to be in the XFL willingly
