There is a lot to like about this start-up league:
* Lot of the rules improve the game
* Running clock & official to set the ball
* Video access during the game
There are a lot of talented players in this league that may earn a shot at an NFL roster.

The largest disparagement in the first week was the level of QB play, but that greatly improved in week two.

The overall level of play will only get better with more actual games. The games have been fun to watch and should only get better.

With TV contracts in place & pretty solid financial backing, this version of the XFL has a great chance to survive.

The one thing i wonder is how are they going to deal with the good players getting poached by the NFL. Seems like it will be real hard to establish stars if a guy like PJ Walker gets signed as some 3rd string or backup in the NFL.

Players making the NFL will just make the XFL more attractive as a place to play.

They’ve done a great job on the production side and the games are really enjoyable to watch (unlike the AAF) ... I hope it sticks.

Looking in on the review process is great and the pace of play is better.

I’m waiting on some big time NFL talent to say F it and play in the XFL. A guy who has a BS suspension or older guys with plenty left in the tank.

They need to do something about the extra points like shorten the distances in half.

1 point: 1 yard line
2 points: 2 yard line
3 points: 5 yard line

I don’t see it detailing the XFL though. There are only so many roster spots in the NFL, and every year there is big talent left out.

I think it will ultimately benefit both leagues if the XFL stays legit.

Thought about this today. It's going to be hard to have XFL stars because anybody good enough to be a star in the XFL is likely going to be on an NFL roster shortly.

From a player standpoint that would be great, from a fan standpoint though, not so much.

Look at minor league baseball, it gets tough getting attached and rooting for teams when rosters are basically overhauled year after year.

The XFL becomes legit when they get a star player that's marketable and talented enough to be a solid contributor in the NFL, but chooses to stay in the XFL to be the face of the league.

What is a BS suspension? Players don’t get suspended for the season. Or lose their contract.

[quote]older guys with plenty left in the tank.

Which NFL player with plenty in the tank cant get a job?

AB is a BS suspension? Lol

When he is your argument for either a bs suspension or older player with plenty in the tank then you have lost.

The AAF felt like a rushed product, much like the first go-round of the XFL. This will never be mistaken for competition for the NFL, but I enjoy the presentation and rule changes they have in place. Seems less gimmicky than before too.

Yeah this just feels different than the original XFL and the AAF. The games seem more fun, the product seems more polished, and it feels like fans are embracing it more. I really hope it catches on and we have an annual fun 10-12 week football season to look forward to in the winter/spring.

I hope it survives beyond a season or two. Arena ball is dead, so there's really no other alternatives for six months for diehards. CFL doesn't count...
