Kalifornia w/ David Duchovny & Brad Pitt was the first movie I recall noticing this.

They're picking up a hitchhiker in NYC and driving out west, and someone (maybe Amanda Plummer?) is standing on a street corner waiting. The sign says Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, and directly ahead in the background...

The Georgia Dome.

Turning the TV off after finishing the news segment that delivers the exposition needed for the movie.

If I remember correctly, she ordered pizza online in that movie. Talk about predicting the future.

Edit: found a still shot of it.

no crimes can get solved without "calling in a favor"

people get shot, sometimes more than once and carry on like they got stung by a honey bee.

suspended/fired cops continue to work on solving a crime.

the protagonist finds himself surrounded by bad guys and is always able to subdue all of them without killing them. the hero can just punch a guy in the face or throw him into a trashcan and never have to worry about him getting back up again?

breakfast scenes where everyone is just hanging out casually with no sense of urgency as if they wake up 3 hours before they need to leave

I haven't read the whole thread, but it's always been way too easy for people to hit someone on the head and knock them out. In reality, you'd either piss them off or seriously injure/kill them.

I'm sure it has been mentioned but....

Poor people living in massive apartments with nice furniture. Poor people living in massive homes.

Meals. The family always gets together for a meal, nobody eats anything and they pick up the plates and head to the sink. Most shows do this.

I remember noticing how Tony Soprano always ate his food. It was so out of the ordinary, It caught my attention.

Also, indigenous people and teenagers don’t ever have acne. Pretty much all Native Americans in movies and TV have perfectly smooth ,

Are native Americans known to have bad acne or something?

Every movie if they show a scene at night, the streets are always wet. Every time, like it must rain every night.

In Dukes of Hazard they ended up using 352 Dodge Chargers. Destroying most of them by cracking the frames when jumping.

This is mainly from 60’s , 70’s and 80’s but the whole world looked like the brown landscape of Southern California.

Computer hackers can hack anything within minutes.

ATM camera’s and convenience store camera’s seemingly have the ability to zoom in at a rate greater than a spy satellite.

Dad’s are always portrayed as dumbasses.

That the LGBTQ community is know 50% of the US population.

That Jews only live in New York or are part of the entertainment industry in LA.

That all southern men sound like Fog Horn Leg Horn if they are rich. And Andy Griffith if they are poor.

Everyone in New England wears wool sweaters and everyone in Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming wears flannel.

Poor Marty McFly would have so much brain damage from all the time times he gets knocked out for hours on end. Maybe the BTTF movies are really just his fever dream as he lay dying on the pavement somewhere.

Another thing I've noticed mainly in TV shows but sometimes in movies in people are always hanging out in their homes with all the lights turned off. Even if another person shows up they will have full conversations with nothing but the small amount of light coming in from the windows.
