I may be stupid but I don’t get it.

My dad started it recently. We were at a restaurant today, and he started eating plain butter off a knife. He said he could have as much as he wanted to with Keto. I wanted to throw up.

He also told me his favorite Keto snack are dipping pork rinds in cream cheese, and dipping Parmesan crisps in queso. That’s literally dipping cheese in cheese.

Keeping this up has to kill your heart. Right?

No. Quite the opposite actually.

This is true to a point. Calories in vs calories out still matters. But once your body is fat adapted. the weight comes off quicker.

Don’t know the health affects , but when I folks hop on ideal protein (extreme keto diet) they drop weight like a mofo. That being said , ideal protein is also no dairy I think.

It just seems like common sense would mean that this diet cannot be good for your heart and arteries.

Nah, just can cause liver disease and kidney failure. But don’t tell a keto fanatic that. They’re about as stubborn as Astros fans.

It's fine for most people if you do it right. Your dad sounds like an idiot though and isn't really following the diet.

His dad is eating butter as if it's a main course.
