You can really tell the difference between the people who fly a lot and the people who don't...
people who fly a lot are courteous and understand that if you're on a short-haul flight in economy, do not recline.

Nah, people who fly understand that you are often behind someone who still does and it rarely makes a noticeable difference in one's comfort either way (the reclinee or the reclined).

I'm not defending the "jackhole's" behavior. People recline in front of me quite often, I ignore it even though it makes me feel more cramped. When they do... again... they either don't know any better, or they're assholes.

i flew every other week for a year and a half during 2017-18.
I always reclined at least a little. Had people in front of me recline. Never crossed my mind to punch the back of their seat.
That said, they are both being bitches. And, i'd bet this guy would not have done that to another man.
