It's a city of 5 Million people. Think he has less than a 0% chance of snoozing a high ranking city official at this time.

try some donkey meat in hot pot - Considering this part, I'm going to assume all the other shite you said is terrible advice as well.

I would have thought that too before I tried it. Imagine all the flavor of an 8 oz. ribeye condensed down into a lean (like deer loin), tender bite. That is what the donkey that I had was like. Tasted like beef. Lean and tender. I think it must have been a better cut of meat, but the donkey was young (like veal) so maybe not.

Cities are broken into districts. Districts are broken into towns. Town mayor is the highest ranking person he has a reasonable chance of meeting - unless he has the help of the town mayor.

While living in rural Japan I refused the dried horse meat. I would refuse the donkey. It’s a matter of respect for the equine family. Similarly no canine or primate, short of starvation. Civilization should agree on this.

That said, the advice you gave him on the Chinese government, the internet, and local medical customs is spot on. Just not eating the donkey bro.

It may taste like pumpkin pie, but I'd never know cause I wouldn't eat the filthy motherfrickers.

My main point is I don't think it's a great idea to try exotic meats in China right now.

Surprised he can even post here. I flew through Wuhan last year and I could barely browse the web with their firewall.

He has a VPN, but it sounds like that is even limited. Hopefully it will be several more hours until we hear from him because it is the middle of the night there.

Is a VPN illegal to have? Could he get in trouble for that?

It's exotic here, but farm-raised there. The restaurant I ate donkey at butchered the animals on the premises and next up to be served was in a cage on the street being used for advertising. It's a different culture. Duck is very common there, almost as common as chicken. Their beef is actually water buffalo. Many restaurants have fish, crabs, and eel in aquariums at the entry, and you actually choose the ones you will eat. When I go to China, I ask to be treated like a Chinese. This helps a lot with the relationships and has exposed me to some really good food. I was a little apprehensive about the donkey, but after I tried it I want more. Yak, on the other hand, is not so great.

Most of the information my wife is getting from China says the virus is from the military bioresearch facility and not from bats.

Looks like the US is offering a Charter Flight for Staff and non staff will have to pay. Honkus said it won't matter what the price is for the flight.

I think TD would pitch in to get a tiger fan home.

Man that has to be a terrified guy, honkus, Stay inside and don't go anywhere.

Although that didn't help with the last Chinese outbreak, it was airborne so it could get into air conditioning systems and spread through buildings.
