I'm literally asking you for data i.e. how many games did Aranda's D ultimately allow us to win or stay competitive in vs how many did they blow it and we lost or nearly lost.

It's a legitimate question and an important one when evaluating coaches.

To the injuries, I specifically said that about this year. The years prior to that our offense was so subpar the defense carried the team for the majority of the games. Not to mention the modernization of the SEC offenses over that same time period is something to consider.

You keep just saying numbers go down so he was getting worse when that's a very narrow way to evaluate a coach. That's my main point not that Aranda is/was GOAT D Coordinator. It's the fact that you're making your judgement of him purely off numbers and factoring in zero other things that played in to those numbers.

Aranda is one of the top DCs in the country. I don't give a shite what numbers "slipped". You saw what his D did in the biggest games this year. It was stellar.

Baylor obviously agreed.

We also played a 7 OT game in 2018.

Leading up to A&M we were a top 10 defense.
Saying the 2018 defense was bad ignored 12/13 games

Yes. The defense got worse when LSU fired Miles.

Ball control is a DC's best friend.

Context is EXTREMELY important. The 2019 defense played LIGHTS OUT down the stretch and were integral to our winning the SEC, playoff and NC games. Your trend is extremely misleading.

Since then, I figure I don't know shite about shite when it comes to CFB coaching hires, and it turns out, neither does the Internet. So now I just sit back and watch what happens.

Nope. Because I don't see the rankings for the offenses we played in each year. Did we, as we did this year, play several of the top offenses in the nation? Did we have big half time leads and then let off the gas or play backups? Were there big time injuries (Chaisson 2018)? Did the offense fail to control the ball, leading to more opponent possessions?

A DC has one job. Allow less points than the offense scores. Aranda was excellent at this, especially this year.

This is part of the reason UW's defense consistently ranks very well.

Yeah, it's a good defense but our offense burns clock and limits possessions.

The fact we finished 33rd with the best offense ever is just a testament to how great Aranda really is.

Objective huh?
Who was the head coach during this time?
Love O. Want him as long as he wants to be at LSU but some of you want to give him credit for the good and not for the “bad”

So did I. And in our defense, Canada was the only OC to score points in a 3 season stretch in which the Canada OC game scored 10 points and the preceding and following seasons we scored 0.

I didn't think he was the best, but very good.

but we rarely had a top defense.
Our defense was top enough to keep us in a crapload of games that we should have lost with completely inefficient offensive output. It was never fair for all those years to put so much stress on our defense. It just wasn't fair.

Ok you win. Dave was the best defensive coordinator in football. It doesn't matter that we were worse in every statistical category. It doesn't matter we were ranked behind 8 other SEC teams this year. You are a football savant who is able to see past all of this data and just know in your heart he was the best.

If you think this years offense didn’t have a detrimental effect on the defense and the numbers it out up, you don’t have a very good concept of football. Like someone else stated ab Miles, ball control is the best friend of a defense. You give them 10 minutes between possessions and they perform much better.

DA is arguably the best DC in college football.
