The only defense he had at LSU that struggled was in 2007 and that defense was ridiculously good until Dorsey got hurt.
Also, his staff was made up of people like Earl Lane, Peveto and Mallory. Our current position coaches are significantly better than those guys. No would have the help he needs easily here.

Are we settling for Bo? I don’t see schools beating his door down. I’m not saying he couldn’t succeed at LSU but you would think better prospects would jump to join Team just coming off the run we had and with the talent we have !

No. Bo had the best defenses that LSU has ever produced.

Yeah Bo is plenty young and energetic enough to be here for a while. Won’t go pro, won’t leave for a bigger gig. It’s a solid hire

Judging by that comment you must be a young fella.
LSU has had many, many excellent defenses over its history.
He had some good ones, but that’s a bit hyperbolic.

Not real big on him. He’s a okay hire.

If it is, I say he sought out the job. Also, considering he was here before, this may be his last job until he retires. That could work out well in our favor.
And, oh by the way, he was the first to hire Corey Raymond.
Its a good fit. Let’s figure out the offense now.

Curious to know the reasoning behind people thinking this guy was a terribke hire. The only thing I have been told is that he is to old. What does that have to do with coaching Pete Jenkins was coaching pro bowl dlineman in his 80s. Pelini had bad arse defenses each year he was here and was the best Nebraska coach since solich he averaged 9 wins a year thats not bad. Nebraska for some reason thought that wasnt good ejough and have struggled ever since. So I am honestly asking what makes him a bad hire.

People need to find another reason to crap on him.
I realize he hasn’t been a DC since he left here, but he also hasn’t been successful during that stretch, either. That doesn’t mean he can’t shift gears and be a good DC again, but 12 years is a long time to struggle.

Oh so thats why he's been wasting away at Youngstown st. Because he's so smart!!!!!!
God, our fans are dumb as frick.
We just won a National Championship and we still have to read stupid arse shite like this.

Don't know but I hope he ditched his idea of taking 230lb safeties and putting them in the nickel/dime slot over CBs mismatching them on the fastest/twitchiest slot WRs ever. That's where spread teams exploited his defense the most. They'd look for the match ups where the S was clearly at a disadvantage.
There isn’t a word of this that can be disputed based on his time here. He loved using safeties as nickels and dimes and that won’t work today.
Anyone watched his YSU teams play? Maybe he’s changed with the times, but it’s hard to be sure of that.

He also alienated their fanbase and fricking melted down in public on a regular basis. Their fans were tough on him, but he couldn’t handle the pressure.
Now please defend his records playing against FCS competition at YSU, because they are legitimately bad.

Sounds like the information is leaking through the dam. If only we knew someone who could not only rent us pumps, but could put us in a economical ride too.?.

Well, good thing we are not hiring him to be HC.

YSU is in the Missouri Valley, pretty much the SEC of the FCS. He’s in direct competition with schools that spend much more money on football. Why do you thinking he’s leaving an HC gig at his alma mater for a Coordinator position? He’s not being forced out.

It's common knowledge that he's at Youngstown State because he's still getting buyout money from Nebraska, about $1.5 million per year and his kids are in the area.
His youngest is about the graduate and the money is about to end. Thus, he is looking for better jobs.
And Bo is only 52. That's prime coaching years. That's about the same age Nick Saban was when he left LSU.
