Paki intelligence was running the Democrat IT department, but that's not really an apples to apples comparison.

It’s threads like these where I have to concede that the right has its own share of crazies.

Do you have it in your mind that Justice Roberts is going to make a guilty or not guilty verdict at the end of this? Please tell me your post is a joke.

Keakar, you're good people, but I don't think you understand the role that the Justice plays in a Senate trial.

There's absolutely no scenario where republican senators lets John Roberts run the trial. Absolutely none.

roberts doesnt run the trial he simply rules on it and everything that happens there

repubs - motion to dismiss for no evidence

roberts - denied

repubs motion to call bidens, shift, nadler, whistle blower, anyone involved in this fake impeachment

roberts - denied, denied, denied, denied, denied, denied, denied, denied,

etc etc etc

The second question is the extent of the Chief Justice's authority as presiding officer to render unilateral rulings. In the first presidential impeachment trial in 1868, Chief Justice Salmon Chase claimed the authority to decide certain procedural questions on his own, but the Senate challenged several of his rulings and overruled him at least twice. In President Clinton's impeachment trial in 1999, Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist ruled on some procedural questions, but the Senate never challenged, much less overruled, any of these rulings.

None of that is going to happen.

Repubs will vote to overrule him in those scenarios.

And Roberts overriding a majority vote of the Senate might happen in Resistance fantasy land, but it’s not happening in the real world.

Roberts can't even override anything. He follows the rules set by the Republicans. This isn't a criminal trial or anything like that. The normal court rules don't apply.

Roberts doesn't hand down the verdict the Senators do.

If there is a trial, Roberts will "rule" on little or nothing.

he must have been quaking. He capitulated to obama's henchmen.

Ireland at the time, and is probably still true, did not allow foreign adoptions. Roberts committed fraud by formally claiming they were adopted from latin America. Roberts violated child traficking laws, international and domestic. Obama's handlers threatened to deport his kids if he ruled against Obamacare.

Roberts could easily be forced to resign. However, Obama's handlers violated child protection laws by unsealing court documents that were in place to protect minors' identity.

Also, you don't know if the kids weren't wanted by anyone. But regardless, Ireland has laws and Roberts violated those laws. Now he sits in judgement claiming to be about upholding laws.
