“Saint Bernard where life is hawd, hawd, hawd!”

He tends to stay on the fence politically. He and Eric Asher are my favorite radio hosts because they grew up there.

since this is about br/no radio, do any of the OT listen to the Woodie show, on your local alternative radio stations??

Just curious how his show played in the South.

I like Bobby, but I still miss Buddy D. Aside from the "squirrels" after Saints games, his weeknight shows were really good he could get good guests and like Finebaum when doing interviews and going informational he was great. He was old school too, he knew horse racing, he grew up around the Fairgrounds. His Friday night shows during football season was must listen to, because he could get the big time oddsmakers on the radio and he was on their level whe discussing things.

Bobby, with an actual decent straight man cohort, would be fantastic. Instead, he gets continuously stuck with guys who are unwittingly goofier/dumber than him, like Deke and Khristian Garrick.

Deke was the worst

Kristian just needs to be put in his place. He’s a little too arrogant

Mike Detillier, and that sideline guy Steve Gellor are completely fricking garbage

I swear anytime I hear Mike Detillier talking into my speakers I punch myself

truth be told, theres 870 and then a bunch of small outfits in there garage on ham radios it seems like

870 got more commercials than air time, nothing is gonna make/force them to change.

get used to it, unfortunately

he way he'd give his on-air commentary and then sign it, was the best.

Yeah it was pretty cool but Phil Johnson definitely wouldn't have sent his kid to Rummel.

I listen to him most afternoons as I drive home in Atlanta. What I find entertaining about him is how he attempts to construct this facade of being level-headed and moderate, but just beneath the surface lies a boiling cauldron of rage. (Also, WWL and 680 The Fan are both unlistenable.)

If you ever want to hear Kaare blow his top, remind him that a huge bridge got named after Frank Davis.

Also, FWIW, Kaare did a solid week on 'gays in sport' way back on WWL, circa 2001.

I like Zach and Deuce too. They are not part of the other consistent stinky garbage that WWL has on air.

I didn’t count them.

Buddy had skins on the wall as he was a writer FIRST, then the best writers got called for early sports television. That's how he, Hap Glaudi and a couple others who weren't smooth talkers got TV then radio gigs.

Kaare after years if proclaiming how "obJEKtive" he was, and I listened to him and Russell "the Analyst" Protti in the early 1990s, went into the tank for Barack Obama in 2008. Never tuned in again.

About that same time he wanted to put toll gates on every single thoroughfare at the city limits except River Road to charge admission to New Orleans. Dude was trying to be progressive, edgy, and think outside the box. However that idea told me he was mentally limited.
