To be fair, when most of their ancestors immigrated here, it wasn't illegal.
Immigration didn't become a problem until the welfare state got cranking.

It's the libertarian fallback. Utopia. If the world would just magically realign to everything I want, everything would be swell. There is no time machine. We have to deal with the reality of the world today. We cant change what was done in the past.

See, this is one of the biggest problems libertarians have. They're not grounded in reality.
They refuse to admit those welfare programs are never ever going to end short of a complete collapse of the United States Government.
Supporting open borders contingent on ending all welfare programs? Ok cool. Bully for you.
Except that is never going to happen.
So the next best thing is to make sure we have a tightly controlled and restricted border along with drastic and severe reductions in legal immigration.

Did you not comprehend a single fricking thing I said? I specifically said I was ok with Soleimani being taken out in the context of us being there. That's straight up dealing with reality.
And the next reality needs to be pulling every fricking troop home ASAP and letting the middle east burn. We have *zero* reason to be there.

it's also not grounded in reality b/c (1) it ain't gonna work and (2) any system that would "work" will be prohibitively expensive
which is whatever, but it's just as much of a pipe dream as the "libertarian policy argument" that's being mocked
