LSU loaded up and to criticize this class shows you're ignorant to recruiting

It's easy to tell who knows what they're talking about and who has no clue about recruiting. First, LSU's class is absolutely loaded and going to get better. If you finish in the top 10 in recruiting, you had an incredible year! If you finish 10 to 20, you still had an outstanding signing day. Those 21-35 still very good.
The first thing you have to understand is college football and recruiting have absolutely nothing to do with college when you're talking about the elite players in the country. It's about winning at all cost, period. What you see on signing day is window dressing.
The real story is what you don't see. By the time a recruit is ready to sign on the dotted line, the schools have exhausted every avenue thinkable. They've dealt with street agents, so-called "uncles" or "advisers, close relatives, girlfriends and parents to name just a few. Money, cars, houses and jobs and just about anything you can think of has been discussed and sometimes delivered to some recruits. Even then, that doesn't guarantee you're going to get that recruit.
The reality is recruiting is a dirty and filthy game and sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. I've read where some so-called fans were criticizing Coach O for missing on some recruits. That's ludicrous! They currently have 3 5-star players and the possibility of adding one or two more! It's not uncommon for a recruit to tell a coach he's coming and he ends up not coming. It's just part of the game. Even if you get them to sign that doesn't mean they're going to stay.
For instance, Alabama's top ranked signed recruit from last year's class is now at Colorado less than a year later. It's recruiting. You give it your best shot and you let your chips fall where they may.
The general rule in recruiting is if a team can have 60 percent of it recruiting class become contributing players, then you've hit a home run. The reality is many recruits will never pan out and never see the field for one reason or another. It's recruiting.
I read yesterday where Vol was taking a break from posting because of some of the idiots on this site. It's clear Vol knows what he is talking about and has inside connections to great information. A few years ago, I had contact with many inside sources to certain programs, but I am no longer in that field, but I still touch base will a few contacts here and there.
My point is you have to really understand the recruiting process to understand that LSU had a phenomenal signing day yesterday that is only going to get better. To criticize Coach O and the staff shows you have no clue what you're talking about.
OK, now the normal idiots can leave their stupid little responses!

Please, would people stop posting threads about everyone being "ignorant" to recruiting, just because there were a couple of things people are disappointed about, and please stop feeling sorry for "Vol" because people finally realized that all he does is copy what he reads on pay sites, and acts as though he is out recruiting with the staff.
I didn't read anything from ANY of the so-called "insiders" on this board that I didn't hear on the radio from the recruiting analysts, themselves. Nothing happened in terms of anyone who signed that was unexpected, and the flips that were not expected, we were told by these "insiders" not to worry, and that any rumors of a flip were just that... Rumors. And so now that a couple of them DID flip, the excuse is that no one knows what these kids will do.
Ya don't say? It takes an insider to figure that out? Enough, already. Let's all just move on.

Most people that actually follow this board know this. You are talking to people that have since left this board and only visit on signing day(basically jackasses). Also; I appreciate and respect your effort but no one is going to read all that aside from a few.

say what you want but we needed this class to be amazing. as of right now we are averaging the 5th best class in the sec under O. it's got to start getting better if we are going to consistently challenge for the sec west.

This is a great class. People can still be disappointed that it could have been better, though. The Jarrett and Burton flips were a bummer.
That said, I think it's a blessing in disguise. I was never in favor of a 4 WR class, but they're all so good I figured you just had to take them all. The class will have better balance now and more flexibility to take a transfer, slight grade risk, or roll it over to next year.
The biggest anger seems to be coming from people who feel like we "processed" guys for nothing. I think this is a fair position for someone to take. I don't agree with it, but time will certainly tell. Also, we can't be sure Burns and Lee would have even made it in the class without the flips and missing on Burch. From what I've read, O told Burns he was worried he was going to get buried in the depth chart for a couple of years. Would he have said this if he wasn't trying to make room? Nobody really knows, but I wouldn't rule it out. Recruits and their families are always saying how up front O is with them.

It was not as good as we expected, but it was good. If they close well it could still be as good as Bama's and Clemson's.

The OL class is on the weaker side.
Probably due to relatively bad home crop but it would be a very good idea to find at least one more guy preferrably rated 4 or higher.
Maybe a transfer.
Looking to 2021, I don’t see many OL either
