Age limits never followed any logic. A 16 year old can drive and work. So we trust a 16 year old behind the wheel of a 6000 lb jacked up super duty, but he just better not dip.

I tuned 18 before they raised the age to 21, so I was grandfathered in

Well that escalated quickly... all I'm trying to say is that raising the age to 21 for tobacco is not a bad thing. Kids turning 18 are not an adult to me. I remember what I was like when I turned 18 and moving out right when I graduated HS. I wasn't making the best decisions. Arbitrarily marking the 18th birthday as the day a kid becomes a responsible adult is laughable. Especially when dealing with something as addictive as nicotine.

Eh, they're being told by other clueless children (liberal arts professors) that it's a good investment. The student loan debacle is just another example of the government "protecting people" like this stupid arse law.

Ok, well make everything 21 then. None of this you're kind of an adult but not really bullshite. That's why it infuriates me to watch politicians make 21 the legal age for tobacco but want to lower the voting age to 16

That's not really the argument here, but I will say I don't think the voting age will ever be lowered. I think 18 is a good number for voting and court. 18 year olds are definitely not as informed, but like it or not they are being affected by these elections. Prior to 18 elections are more affecting your parents directly than you as a minor.
