Tobacco users should have to pay more in health insurance premiums (and not just that $25 nonsense that some companies enforce).

Yea we pay $30 and no one signs up for that.

You do realize the rate of healthcare cost growth is higher in many oecd nations than America, right?

Your point doesn’t make sense even if it were true

Unhealthy eating puts a financial strain on ANY healthcare system

There’s a reason numerous euro nations have sought substance regulations

The fact that Europe does it doesn't make it right.

Correct. No one should us tobacco anymore. You drew that conclusion on your own and so have I independently. It's not the government's job or place to make that conclusion for us.

Is this the part where everybody pretends that other developed nations with universal healthcare / single-payer / etc. provide shite service, or that there is some other explanation for why our health care costs are so much higher? And then ask what we can do about our skyrocketing premiums?

No... I use tobacco, but unfortunately nicotine is the most addictive chemical on the planet, and it's being sold to kids.

Sweet logical argument.

It's almost 2020, no one should be:

Drinking alcohol
Going to church
Having sex
Driving cars
Owning property
Owing pets
Getting married
Having kids

anymore.

When the government is paying for the health effects that tobacco and alcohol consumption causes, I think it should have a say in what is consumed.

There is no reason the govt should sit ildly by and watch Medicaid-recipients engage in eating habits that vastly increase risk of diabetes, heart disease, and cancer

How are any of those things related to smoking tobacco laced with chemicals?

Sign them up with people who drink, eat fatty foods, don't exercise, engage in unnecessary risky behavior, jodies, etc.

So, you're alright with copying europe when it comes to restricting freedom? But not in anything that resembles socialism?

18 year olds aren't kids and if someone is already selling to those younger than 18 what changes by raising the age restriction?

If you're the healthy one, go without insurance. The numbers are clearly on your side, no?

I wouldn't mind raising the voting age to 21.

and requiring the voter to either own land or pay income taxes. Preferably both.

Oh what a great day that was... I woke up, it was my birthday, and, unlike the day before, I instantly became a responsible adult! It was a great day.

Give me a break.
