I wouldn’t understand this move at all. You get paid 2.5 million a year to work with a plethora of talent And you don’t have to do much recruiting. Why go to a shite program for half the money and more work.
This path, going from coordinator at P5 (successful or not) to HC at smaller/less successful/G5 school is the conventional path.

HOWEVER, over the last 4 to 5 years things have changed. There are coordinators going straight from big P5 coordinator to big P5 HC gigs (e.g. Pruitt). The conventional path is no longer the only path. Seeing this is something Aranda (or any other coordinator) has to consider in today's environment.

So 10 years ago I would've told you such a move makes complete sense. Now, it's completely valid to say what you did.

Seriously believe Aranda's gone.

First, he should go, he deserves this opportunity.

Second, we hear nothing but people complaining about his salary every week. Nothing but a stellar defense will keep him the good graces of LSU fans at this point.

Why in the ever loving frick would you leave lsu for the likes of a UNLV? Makes ZERO SENSE. That’s not even a lateral move, that’s a downward move.

Maybe he is not happy.....Maybe this new offense makes his style tougher to make work. Who knows. Everything happens for a reason. Let it play out.

He only has one side of the ball to worry about right now and if that’s to tough for him now, how will he handle being the head coach?

You morons think this is the first time a coach has left during a recruiting cycle? If our coaches know what they are doing, and I trust they do, the damage will be minimal. The messaging to the kids will definitely have to be on point and a gameplan on a replacement clearly laid out.

I'm fine with him taking the HC job, I just hope he stays to finish the season, any word on this?

It’s funny watching people who were screaming fire him all year long are now melting because he might leave. Rantards are at least funny.

Yes that would not only suck but would be a dick move. I hope this is a lot of smoke and nothing else, last week on radio all I heard was Napier had the Ole Miss job and was leaving USL but look how that turned out. Could be BS.
