Crazy thing is as good as O has done hiring coaches since he became the HC I almost say frick it let him leave O will find someone better.
If one can dismiss the inherent [to us all] fear of change, that's my thought on the matter.

Then again, LSU might not get a choice in the matter. Money aside, he just might want to be a HC. Maybe someone backs up the truck. Who knows.

And if it is up to us, it isn't a given that LSU is willing to go much further. Replacing coaches is something that happens. The frequency is a sign of success.

You don't worry about what you can't control.

ETA: obligatory warning to the board... just may be a recruiting tactic! We see it every year. Just be aware.

Colorado State is a decent job. Hard to win there long term but you can get them in good shape and step to a bigger job

He’s currently doing this right now.

So you’d up his pay more than 2.5 million to keep him from a team that’s gonna pay him 900k? Is he worth that? Come on bro your better than that

What? Did I say that?
Obviously if he leaves money is not why, he's making more than most fbs head coaches

UNLV is the situation to monitor right now. Colorado State appears to be in the rear view.

Vol

We obviously have back up options because Aranda has been a hot topic each offseason to be a HC.

Would Leonard at Wisconsin be an option? Really going and really good defenses. Also same style/formation.

I don’t get the appeal of the UNLV gig.

“Come lose games in a new NFL stadium in front of 10s of people”.

Their last coach was literally a local high school coach before taking the job. Don’t blame them for reaching for the stars this time around.

On a limited basis. Much different when you’re the head man

Haven't been monitoring the local situation here in Albuquerque, but I think the UNM job is still open(think the board approved his buyout today) and guess who the AD is here......Nunez. I hope Dave stays put, Geaux Tigers!

I wouldn’t understand this move at all. You get paid 2.5 million a year to work with a plethora of talent And you don’t have to do much recruiting. Why go to a shite program for half the money and more work.

UNLV was paying their previous coach about $600,000 per year.

Even if they nearly double that for Aranda, he would still be taking a massive $~1.5 million pay cut.

I just don't see that happening.

Plenty of coaches go from assistant coaches to Power 5 head coaches (Pittman being the most recent example). Dave will wait for a Power 5 HC offer that can pay him closer to what he's making now.

UNLV is such a terrible job

How could his first gig NOT be a P5 team?

If he doesn't know it by now he will learn quickly that the key to success in coaching is recruiting not Xs and Os .

Well, I guess this is a relief for all those ran-yards who claimed he was stealing money.
