Thoughts on saying “congrats!!” to a girl who gets pregnant outside of marriage?

Was at an event this past weekend and a friend of the family was there with her daughter who is pregnant. Everyone was like awww congrats that’s so great
But the thing is she’s like 20 years old not married and doesn’t even have a boyfriend. She won’t be able to pay for this kid or raise it properly but everyone acts like it’s the greatest thing ever
Personally I think it’s just a sign of the moral decline of society

I agree. We should not condone this. Help quietly if need be, if you're family or close friends. But congratulations? No.

Well, welcome to 2019. Women can be whores and celebrated for all the transgressions especially if they have kid(s). What a world we live in today.
I bet she starts a Gofundme page and makes bank. Then sues the kid's dad for all kinds of alimony and child support and still party's all night.

You have to just embrace it. She needs to look at it as a positive so she will care for herself and her baby. Its not a death sentence, after all. Her situation can still improve, although it we be harder now as a single parent. Congratulate her and encourage her to be the best mother she can be.

yea...I have a trashy part of my family too... the trashy aunt and uncle house now holds their 25 ish year old son, his gf and their baby as well as their 20 year old pregnant daughter and her bf. They legit could not have been happier about both
