Back neighbors to me just redid the fence. Rails on my side. Only thing I wish was a heads up since it took 3 days to do and I have a dog that will run. Son said a tree branch fell on it and busted 2 slats before the fence guys left.

Nothing wrong with that. Mine is a hybrid, part pretty facing me and part pretty facing road.

My neighbor and I collaborated and we both wanted the "pretty side". This is what we ended up with.

The company that built my fence did it that way. I didn't really think much about it before so I assume that's how most people do it. Wouldn't really bother me either way. I have neighbors on each side so they are the only people who see the other side.

Code in my city says that the finished side must face outward. So if you want the nice side then your only choice is to double pocket.
