No, but you're making it easier for people to get into your yard.

This, but how hard is it to just double side the fence where you border neighbors? It also looks like crap from the curb.

How does this matter if it borders a neighbor?
In some instances, you can see this from the street. I'd probably have to take a pic to show you what I mean.

You'll have the outside facing the street on that part
See above, it's not facing a street.

I was making general statements about the decision of what side to face where.

Not a smart thing to do. Always put the finished side facing out. The way you built your fence, gives a thief a built in ladder to clime over your fence

How myopic is this. True baws put the finished side in so the thieves can get in but can’t get out and are caught red handed.

So why feel the need to post and ask if you are a dick? You're just bragging.

You must be in St George, that’s way too nice of a fence for BR.

No but when you try to sell the house count how many times buyers say “House was okay but the fence is backwards....”

50% of the houses on the market with a fence have it backwards

I mean, its usually a 6ft fence. The pretty side isn't going to do shite to stop the teenage hooligans from pulling themselves over knowing that weed money in the form of a cordless drill is sitting in a garage on the other side.

It took too many pages for someone to point out how stupid the "give them a ladder" argument is. I paid for it. I want the nice side. If it's front yard, I'll double it up. If a criminal wants in to my yard, the pretty side won't deter them. My cameras and dogs will be there too and hopefully help.

Sounds like a lot of people had neighbors build fences on the border and they got stuck with the ugly side and they had to come up with a way to make themselves feel better

I've always built mine like this:

But will do this next time:

Of course I do mine myself, so I'm just buying materials, I understand fencers love to charge out the arse.

How are you going to climb up to peek in your neighbor's yard?

There's a style called "Good neighbor fence" where you alternate the side the boards face--one on your side, next one faces neighbors, etc. Decent compromise

The nice side is the one with the poles and cross beams.
