What's he supposed to say? Auburn is the second-third best team we have played this year? That will really go over well and get his players fired up.

Damn, I didn't think the gump influence was starting to affect the way I think.

Shouldn't it be the only team to hold LSU's offense in check was LSU?

Sure, it's coach speak, but this is actually really good if we have a rematch in the playoffs.

Some good motivation material for the team.

Saban has a ton of respect for the school he put on the map, always has. Louisiana as well, always speaking highly of Louisiana, so, not buying that for a minute.

I rarely click on any Saban thread, but here I am...

I am quite aware of his five years in Baton Rouge, and the success he delivered to us, but you think Nick Saban "put LSU on the map?"

Are you kinda stupid? Or just ignorant of LSU as a football team before the 1990s or something? I assure you that LSU, while frustrating as heck some years, was well "on the map" before Nick Saban took the job.

Also, based on NUMEROUS examples I can list, he has very little respect for LSU and probably less for Louisiana.

Well, Saban just gave LSU extra bulletin board material if by some bizarre chance they sneeked their way into the playoffs...

Saban's level of respect for LSU has been since December 25, 2004.

I'm not too worked up about the Saban quote, but does anyone have O on record saying that A&M is the best team LSU will have faced thus far?

Yeah, but they want to create drama in multiple front for ratings.

O is not counting on the media jumping his team into the playoff. We just need to win.

It's a real mistake though because Alabama's schedule is it's albatross that will keep it from getting into the playoff. And, he just suggested that a 3 loss team will be the best team they have played. Meanwhile, their biggest resume builder is only losing to LSU by 5.

If he was smart, he'd be trying to create a narrative that compares this performance to LSU's ("the best team we've played") performance. He should be saying that they want to prove that they are on the same level as they were when they played LSU.

Then he has a rational argument for why they should be top 4 if/when they win. Now, when they win, he has suggested that his best win is over a 4 loss Auburn team.

“Auburn will be one of the best teams we’ve played all year, and it is very tough to beat them at their place.”

How about that. It doesn’t have to be one extreme or the other.

No. He wants the playoff committee to over value a win at auburn. Make no mistake, Bama needs help to get in
